See, the fact that you think the movies should be carbon copies of the games.... That kind of thing makes me lose my respect for YOU.
I understand what your saying, i like the movies too. You'd rather see something different/ original happen in the movies to keep it interesting?
Myself, i like Andersons movies and i would also be interested in seeing a movie thats like the game. Just to see how it goes. (not an exact copy of the game mind you)

And to reply to moons comment on what i said...
Ok, fair enough. I apologise to you and Dot and anyone else on this website who feels the same. (I havnt heard of that 8 bit theatre btw, not really into Final Fantasy)

I also think Apocalypse is the best out of trilogy, i enjoyed it more than the first movie and thid movie.....i like Extinction too but i was a bit dissapointed that the music wasnt as epic as Apocalypse.

Well, if Resident Evil was public domain, and someone could make the movies based directly on games, meanwhile someone else, like Anderson, could make something in a different universe with different chain of events, yes, I'd watch the game based movies just for the heck of it. But I don't think it's the best way to make a movie version of a game. In any instance. Look at Tomb Raider, which, to the best of my knowledge, is the most successful video game movie to date... They're not based on any of the games, they just borrow the characters and concepts. The movie itself is completely original.

I'm not saying that Anderson's trilogy is the best the RE movies COULD be, but I think it is better than if he (or anyone else) made them DIRECTLY based on the games. Then you'd spend like 15 minutes of the movie watching as the characters read the files. And when some event occurs that's slightly different from the game, people would say, "What the hell is this!? It should be EXACTLY like the game!" And again, people are pissed. Unless it's Capcom themselves who makes the movie, then they say, "Well, Capcom said so, so I'll blindly accept it." But then Capcom just might as well stop making games at all, and just make RE into a noninteractive franchise. OR, you could have a video game that's visually stunning, almost like a movie, and still get to play it. Which is what REmake pretty much is. So I don't see why we need it retold AGAIN with live action actors who probably won't meet anyone's expectations anyway.

Biohazard, the RE movie franchise is the highest selling game to movies adaption ever actually, well thats what i heard anyay, i think tomb raider was just behind it, but i think thats only if you coult it as a trilogy, if you count each singly i think tomb raider would win, but over all the RE movies were more succecful.

Umm... No, I don't think that's right... I don't know... Actually, maybe after Extinction. But that makes 3 RE movies and 2 Tomb Raider movies.
And yes, Extinction was the most successful out of all three movies, which I guess put it in front. But before Extinction came along, it was actually #4.

Anyway, what does that have to do with anything?

I have patience, now, and simply wait until it either comes out or I have some spare cash. I'm not a thief anymore and don't steal anything. And regardless of what you believe piracy is theft, whether you buy the thing or not. Going back later and paying doesn't erase the crime.

Dot decided you needed a warning, hence why your ban has been overturned. But piracy is illegal and not tolerated here. Not only will it get you into trouble, but it can get THIA into trouble as well if things get out of hand. You wanna be selfish and download crap? Fine. Leave THIA out of it though.

Those are the rules here. Accept them or leave, now. I've had a very bad day and no tolerance, at all, for any kind of stupidity.

Which brings me to this sudden idea that a mod is illegal. It's not. Welcome to Fair Use. As long as it's not sold, nor does it copy another game, it's perfectly legal. Ever read a comic called 8-Bit Theatre? I notice the complete lack of Square stomping Brian Celevenger, the man who runs it, despite the fact he essentially makes a living using resources from old Final Fantasy games. Nor do they run around taking out AMV's and fanfiction. Yet Capcom will stomp whoever released Degeneration if they find him.

Since Dominion's game is using a game engine that might not even be copyrighted anymore for a non-profit game which still requires a legally bought copy of the game itself then it's still legal. And, allow me to point out, you still have to pay Capcom money by buying RE2 PC before you can play it. Unlike download and watching Degeneration where, whether you buy it or not, you don't have to pay Capcom before you do it.

Edit: And in case you want Dot's view on this... http://www.the-horror.com/forums/sho...0878#post60878 is what he has to say on the matter. Which means the next person I see who says they've watched it before the Release Date gets banned. You've all been warned.
Whatever small fry. It's not like your the only site Dedicated to RE.Theres thousands out there, and im a member of 300 sites, including im a member of the Official Capcom Community Committie.oh and even though Dark BioHazard
is fan-made,it's still running off RE 2's engine.Dominion's idea is too recreate a whole new re game, and in order to do that,he would have make a new cd.he said its not going to be a mod.its gonna be an on-official game.so thats piracy even if he owns a copy of RE2 for PC. FCC and capcom would say the same thing.Unless he sells his darkbiohazard idea to capcom and save himself a lawsuit.

...yeah, you don't have a damned clue about the mod do you? It REQUIRES that you have RE2 before you can play it. You download all the new stuff and replace the files. Seriously, there will be no new CD, and he probably won't include all the resources required to play, only the ones to make the mod works.

Secondly, you're trying to compare a free mod of a, what, twelve year old game that will require the origional game to be purcahsed first to downloading a movie before it's even out in the US.

Simply put...if you don't like the rules here, there's the door. Nothing is keeping you here. And if you derail this thread again I will quite happily show you the door. If you're part of three hundred different forums, well, bully for you. This is THIA. Not Capcom's forum (and please, show me the thread on there where you explain why you should be allowed to download Degen), we're not a forum set up for amusement, we're not even Sparta. We're the Horror is Alive.

Ahhh, 300 hundred jokes. Never bad things.

And here we don't argue about stupid things cross-topic.
I guess he'll now be a member of 299 Resident Evil sites for the rest of the work week.
(And I think a dedicated Dark Biohazard topic with "the facts" would be an idea... I shall start that... yes... yes...)

What an asshat. If he's a member of 300 sites, I pity the sheer number of people who have to (daily) try to interpret his bizarre, incoherent posts. Maybe he should skip out on RE forums and instead focus on proper grammar.

As for my own imagining of an RE film...lets see...Leon and Alice, trapped in a steel cage, feet encased in cement blocks, hands cuffed behind their backs. Steel cage falls into ocean. Fin.

I must admit, I was sorta curious. Why on earth would you want to be on 300 hundred forums, let alone find the time? It's not as though they're each gonna be different. Me, I'm on three. Of course, I'm also a well known and respected member at all three, and mod two. Personally I figure it's better to known at a few places that a ghost at many.

                                Meh.

Anyway, on topic folks. You know what I would quite like to see in an RE movie? The founding members of Umbrella discussing the virus before sharting each other. Just three shadowy fgures in a room, talking, at the end of the movie before one says, 'And by the way, Ashford...you're failure here means we've bought you out. Don't worry old boy. There is much work you can do at the Antartic facility.'
