  • As for being in awe of people that are "rich and famous," and thinking their actions and creations are so great...I say **** them.

You think I give a crap about something a selfish (albeit rich & famous) assclown like Terrell Owens says or does on or off the football field? Or that I should support every cause that overexposed pop/rock music star Bono says is the best charity?

If I have to idolize/fixate on someone, or emulate the actions of a famous person, I'd rather it be a great writer like Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, J.D. Salinger, or Kurt Vonnegut. Now those were talents with some real messages to convey.

Of course, all 3 are dead now.

    Speaking of dead...what a segue...

You're funny. Are you trying to imply that he was dressed to BE killed? Of course you are.

Books are so under-rated these days.
      Vonnegut for the win.

      • You know what would be cool? Books with soundtracks. Like a book that comes with a headphone jack, and as you read it, it plays certain music to convey the mood of the scene in the book, depending on which page you're on. That's the biggest downside of books, I think, compared to movies, that music can be so powerful. With movies as the visual media, a good soundtrack is like adding a whole new dimension to it.

You can disagree with the series' direction all you want, but calling it 'dead' is ignorant.

It might be dead to you, but it is FAR from dead in every other aspect.

J.D. Salinger is still alive. Kind of. You forgot to mention Philip K. Dick!
            See you in hell.

The title might be alive. But it doesn't have any of the things that it originally stood for. In essence, it's a completely different series now.

              • Most of the elements that the series had started with might be gone, but that definitely doesnt mean the series is dead.

Well, it's dead to me. What carries the "Resident Evil" label today, is not Resident Evil, as far as I'm concerned.

But hey, we're supposed to be discussing fashion. Yeah, I didn't think Luis' attire fit in very well. It was a little too... Musketeerish. I think he was supposed to carry a rapier, but there was a typo in the design document, so instead of rapier, it simply said 'rape'. And that's how they ended up killing him off.

                  • Thus RE can take some notes from RPGs.
Yeah, you should really just shut up.

That's a bit harsh. But I do think Resident Evil has already taken a little too much from RPGs:
                      -Upgrading Weapons
                      -Shopping
                      -Enemies Leaving Gold
                      -Increasing Maximum HP
-Bosses starting off human looking and transforming into gigantic beast creatures

All it needs is a level up system and a Mana bar, and it's a full blown RPG.

What else can it take from RPGs? A big, fluffy, romantic story with angsty teenagers as heroes? Wow... Actually, that sounds like Code Veronica.

Salinger is still alive. I don't know why I thought he was dead...probably because he's always been a recluse.

                        And it sounds like RE4.

But wow...your analysis of RE's RPG-like similarities is frightening. And sad. Notice how most of those things became a part of the series starting with #4...

                        • Leon wasn't even close to angsty in RE4. You're thinking of RE2. The little bland pussy in that game sounds a lot like what Bio Ex is talking about.

And Devlin, leave your elementary school bitching out of a civil discussion kay?

Now, it's one thing to try and be the devil's advocate and defend RE4 because everyone hates it. But it's another to defend it by completely shitting on every other RE game, especially RE2. See, that's what makes you sound like an RE4 fanboy is that every comparison you make, you have to completely destroy any other RE game.
Leon was not angsty in RE2 at all. In fact, he always tried to be positive and collected and take control of the situation. Now, the fact that he was a rookie cop, and horribly failed at being in control is somewhat of a different story. But never in the game was he all like, "Nobody listens to me. I think I'll just die and get eaten now."
Instead, he got angry, he was like, "Why does nobody listen to me?" Almost as if to say, "Are they all idiots? I'm a cop!"

Leave your elementary school opinions and OMFG JIZZ IN YO PANTS LEON out of a civil discussion and maybe I'll consider it. Oh, and it's hardly a "civil" discussion when you're being a jerk about everything by constantly dis-regarding any sort of argument or piece of rational logic handed to you, then pulling up some nursery-level comment about how "badass" (bullshit word by the way) a bunch of lame, bland, poorly constructed characters are.

What age are you, 12? Or are you just a really bad weeaboo that thinks ridiculous clothes, hairstyles that make more sense as a weapon than an over-sized sword and angsty women masquerading as men are the very definition of badass? Then you have the nerve to say "lol everything should be like this"? That reaches a whole new level of sadness I can't begin to comprehend, let alone describe.

Oh, and your arguments are bullshit and you really need to do some research into the things your trying to demean.
