Wow. That seems a little harsh.

REUC never tried to replace the games it was covering. It just tried to be a light, fun recreation of some of the key moments in the series pertaining to the Umbrella plot.

Playing as Ada, HUNK, Wesker, Richard...those things seemed like fan service to me.

Playing as Ada, again, they totally butchered the way she escaped from the city. It's like, here's a new toy, you're gonna be known as the "Hookshot Lady" for the rest of the franchise, now.
And let's plaster this Sergei character everywhere he's not supposed to be. Especially in the mansion where TALOS was being held all along. Big twist!

That's the farthest thing from fan service.

Putting the Hospital, RPD, and the labs into Outbreak that's fanservice. Remaking RE1 that was fanservice.

There was no butchering how Ada escapes. We had no idea how she escaped. Most people just guessed Wesker saved her ass somehow and that's it. How was completely unknown.

Umm, this is the only game that shows how Ada escaped, so nothing was butchered there.

Actually, the one thing, ONE thing that I really enjoyed about the game was the music. I mean, it was basically techno remixes of older tracks, but it's better to have a techno remix of an older track that sounds good, than a completely crappy original soundtrack like a game I won't mention had.

What? Aren't you the one always talking about how the RE series is crap because it has lost the horror aspect? That music was utter crap, older tracks would have helped out alot. Techno music is not scary.

And no, I don't see this game as a 'thank you' to the fans, I see it as more of a 'fuck you' to the fans. The storyline was an insult to the franchise. RE4 sucked, but it sucked on its own. Umbrella Chronicles sucked, and it wasl like it was trying to take the whole franchise or at least RE0, Remake and RE3 down with it.

Yeah, your taking the game way too seriously. Yes, its quite obvious they did a horrible job retelling each game, and the VA sucked big time, but the main point of UC is to have fun shooting up tons of zombies and BOW's and viewing it all in first person perspective. Thats what the game is really about.

Exactly, we had no idea how she escaped, and exactly HOW it happened was one of the series' mysteries. Maybe Wesker had come, gave her first aid, saved her, etc. But no, now they established that Wesker sat his ass in a chair and told here, "Here, have a hookshot."

And yeah, that's just hilarious what you said about Sergei. Just because they told his pathetic excuse of a backstory, doesn't make him a deep character. "Ooh, Spencer rescued me when I was a little boy," or whatever it was, I'm glad I don't remember it. Nicholai's backstory is unknown which makes him somewhat of a mystery, which makes him a better character than Sergei with a crappy backstory.
I'd rather play Outbreak than UC anyday.

No, it's not scary, but in this particular instance it's enjoyable to listen to. I love techno remixes of video game tracks. And like I said, it was a major improvement from the soundtrack of the previous RE game.

If that's all that it was about, then Sergei shouldn't have been in the game at all. But his participation in the game is Canon in Capcom's storyline. And thus, it butchers the entire story.
Now... Let's say it's just a fun rail shooter in the first person perspective. Fine. That's what it is. But it's NOT fan service.

There's a lot that sucks about UC but I still quite like it.
I hated how they changed a lot of the canon but I forgive it for this, by looking at it for what it is; An on rails shooter.
It's more of a tribute to Resident Evil. I ignore everything that changes canon, and include some of the stuff that dosn't and adds something new.
I'll expand my thoughts on UC at a later time (I'm tired) but I'd like it so much more if it was an actual light gun game. I love light gun games (on occasions) but I find the Wiimote very inaccurate and that's always the source of my main frustrations with the game.

I personally didnt think the hook shot was that big of a deal. We already saw her with it in RE4, not so surprising she had it in UC. As for the hunter scene, what does that have to do with anything? It wasn't ment to be over the top hilarious.

Yes, she had it in RE4, and now they're further associating RE2's storyline with RE4, which was what was wrong with it. Yeah no, I don't consider a single part of UC canon, just like I don't consider RE4 to be a part of the storyline. It doesn't exist to me.

I didn't find any of RE4's soundtracks eerie, they were just annoying.

I thought Ada's bit was one of the worst. How could someone so injured have the time to bandage herself, hobble through the labs, find a rocket launcher, toss it to Leon/Claire, escape from the labs to the sewers before they explode all the while still fighting off the monsters. Then she gets to the city where her injuries magically no longer affect her since she's doing the hookshot aerodynamics with ease, and she escape on a helicopter right before a bomb goes off. In Jill's ending you can actually see the second helicopter Sergei was flying. Ada must have some awesome grip if she was able to hang on to the computer system during the explosion. Keep in mind that in RE3's true ending, the helicopter Jill was riding in was jolted pretty bad.

Just my personal opinion. Like I said...the only thing from the other games that I enjoyed was Hunk's.

No, in Wesker's report, he said that he saved her. It was explained. We didn't need to know anymore.
Then suddenly, they said, "Naw, let's make her save herself." "But Wesker said he saved her." "Umm... Okay, I got it! She healed herself up, but he gave her the hookshot! Which she uses to escape, so that's how he saves her."
