The Writing On The Wall...

My apologies for dragging up a topic which has likely been discussed numerous times in the past, but I’m looking for some definitive confirmation. Has anyone ever figured out what the bloody writing on the wall along the 1st floor west-wing hallway of the Arklay Mansion (just outside the “Keeper’s” room) says in the beta version of the original Resident Evil? “Wesker” has a write-up about it on Survivhor, but I unfortunately can’t read what he has to say. Also, someone on Bioflames stated this back on Wednesday, December 5, 2007:

Bloody writing in the hallway on wall. Says “This pain I found... I can't stand this pain any longer.” (Correct?)

Just so this isn’t a one-and-done, totally pointless thread, I’ll toss in an additional question. While searching for information on the MA-121 Hunter “Sweeper” model, I came across another RE forum where someone stated that they encountered such creatures in the guardhouse in Resident Evil: Deadly Silence for the Nintendo DS. I’ve never played this game, so can anyone confirm or deny this?

I don't know an exact translation of the writing on the wall, but as far as I can read the french, Wesker does not have a translation on his site. The only translation I know is the one you just posted from Bioflames =/.

Dominion translated this text by " Non... ma gorge... Délivrez-moi de cette douleur" which means something like "No... my throat... Release me from this pain".
Not sure if the "release" part makes any sense in English. Like he is prisoner from the pain and ask to be freed of it.

Im not sure about the writing on the wall mate

regarding the Sweeper, not only has a rumoured Sweeper apparently been in DS, but also in REmake, ive not seen the creature to be honest, but lets look at the facts.

Sweeper is a sub-species of the Hunter II model which was developed by most likely The Organisation.
It is clearly based on the Hunter II model but the Sweepers secrets the poison which covers its claws thus poisoning people.

Archives states that from the Sweeper and hunter II models, The Organisation's research is quite advanced. So advanced that even Umbrellas best Hunter model, the Elite wasnt poisonous nor could react to the drones seen in CV and RE4. So the chances of a Sweeper being involved in the mansion incident is low i believe.

I don't think he had read your post yet, but you are right, this means Trevor most likely didn't write it which makes sense as he have never really been at that part of the mansion. He was lost underground in the parts he didn't engineer himself.

It was probably a researcher. One with a penchant for poetic deaths. I mean, I'm pretty sure the guards would have just been "grunts" who stood their ground 'til the bullets ran out. Any STARS members were surely well trained enough to know that survival is the name of the game, not leaving cryptic messages on walls. So my guess is a researcher.

The very line itself is stupid though. Mutagenic virus or not, if you were in that much pain would you really take the time out to scrawl about it on a wall with blood from your own throat?
