  • Resident Evil Comic books: Opinions?

I loved most of the past comics ( although 4 and 5 were a bit strange ), mainly the issues dealing with the actually game plots. I thought a few of the original stories such as Birkin attacking the zoo, and the behind the scenes look at Jon's transformation into a zombie were fantastic. I also can't forget to mention the story where Barry goes to see a shrink and ends up slaying zombies, that's another great one. However, when wildstorm decided to make the totally original "Fire and Ice" spin-off, the comics seemed to go completely down hill.

There was no more familiar stars members, just abunch of punks with mohawks and nose piercings running around fighting "umbrella creatures"...aka giant seal monsters and other nonsense. I was excited to hear about wildstorm's new RE5 prologue comic series but I'm a little worried about the other resident evil series they are releasing, also called "fire and ice". Apparently it's about stars "charlie" company fighting zombies. Let's hope it's better than the last series of the same name.

I've only got the collection, which has I think all the stories from books 1 and 2, but is missing from from 3, 4 and 5.
Some were good, I liked the guys in the helicopter dropping BOWs into Raccoon City, and the John the zombie too. I thought the Barry one was a bit ridiculous. I think the worst one (in the collection) was where Leon is fighting some radio controlled bat humans or something. Absolutely baffling...

I haven't read Fire and Ice.

Yea I forgot about Leon and the bat creatures...that story and fire and ice are equally bad. In 4th comic the stars members go to britian and fight zombified british royal guards, and are attacked by suits of armor...resident evil 4 anyone?

While the story of Dexter Whitlam was utterly ridiculous in Resident Evil #5 “…And the Last Shall Be First,” I really liked the villains. The “Penguin” looking guy who wears the monocle and his silent henchman, Mr. Venk. I thought they were good examples of the sinister agents which Umbrella was likely to have employed.

You feeble-minded idiots! Did you really think we would fail to notice a missing G-virus sample? Perhaps you would like to be the subjects of our new experiment on how long one can live when skinned alive?
A bit silly? Yes. But I still like it.

This big Fire And Ice comic book is a rerelease. Nothing special.

I liked Fire and Ice! I got all four for $35 Also it had one of the most creative bad-guy deaths ever: being impaled on a bone from his henchman's broken arm

You got the first Resident evil comic or Fire and Ice comic? Fire and Ice was an all original comic spin-off from the resident evil story, with crazy soldiers fighting against umbrella.
