"No one says you have to split off RE4 and RE5 from the other series."
RE4 changed the entire genre of the game. It went from a survival horror to an action shooter. Like if halo became a warthog racing game. It has the same name, and some of the elements, but they are completely different games.
I agree with you. But that doesn't mean someone else has to, and it doesn't mean they need to split the series unless they choose to.
If YOU hadn't said anything, I wouldn't have said anything.
There was absolutely no need for it, you said it in spite because of the Jill fans going mad about speculation of her dying.
And your reasons can be counter-reasoned anyway.
So yeah, lets stop this.
Then stop it. There's no point in continuing the argument, then ending it with "so let's stop this", then the next person continuing the argument, and putting on the end "let's stop it". If you want to stop it, then don't continue it. It just makes all parties involved look like they aren't bothered about ending the argument.
On topic, I wish for RE5 to go into Umbrella a bit more. I'm looking forward to what RE5 has to offer, what the cutscene with the Umbrella logo is about, and what will be revealed between Wesker and Spencer.

Aren't you being a hypocrite here? You're telling everyone to stop arguing, and telling Gradon to "stop" saying "stop the fighting", what you just did in your first sentence. So heh, hypocrite much? Stop carrying on this foolish act of insecurity.
Now, classic vs. new players should be seperated because Resident Evil 4 is not like the rest of the series.
Neither is Outbreak, Gaiden, or the Survivors. But why is RE4 different then Outbreak, Gaiden, Survivor etc.? Because Resident Evil is a HORROR series, not a horrible boring action game, that is what Tomb Raider is for and Metal Gear Solid.
I'm not telling people to stop arguing. I'm telling people that to avoid being a hypocrite, if they want the argument to stop, then all they have to do is click the X at the top right corner of their screen. Why carry on an argument, then end the argument with "Okay, I've said my bit, let's move on now", full well knowing that the person you're arguing with is going to reply to it?
Besides, I didn't know I was talking to YOU in the first place. It'd do you well to keep your nose out. Talking about "separating fans" is ridiculous. Omfg, RE4 fans must be segregated! If you didn't like RE4, get over it. RE4 was nothing like the rest of the series, but it is possible to like all of the games and the franchise in general. There is enough strife in the community over RE4 as it is, without the idea of "separating the fans". I know, we'll implement a menu upon registration where if you're an RE4 fan, you can only visit a certain part of the forum, and vice versa. What a dumb idea.
Edit: Besides, how unwelcoming is it to insist that veteran players and new players can't all enjoy the series? Old fans and new should be treated the same, even if they sometimes aren't.
Given the ammount of fighting, I'm not sure I'd mind it if some of you guys were seperated. I imagine this is rather good training for being a teacher.
Fighting only occurs when people can't be civil with eachother and get over excited about videogames. I'm a veteran player, played RE1 when I was 7 years old. And you know what? I still like Resident Evil 4. Sure, I don't really like any of the characters or the plot, but the game was really fun; and Resident Evil 5 so far has assured me it was just a hiccup in the franchise, a la Devil May Cry 2, and things are going to get back on track. Talking about cutting off new players from the community is unfriendly and very unwelcoming.
Resident Evil is getting back to where it should be. I don't know what more I could have asked for in RE5 besides an entire CVX REmake. Umbrella, Spencer, a new biological company rather than a silly cult, Wesker, and a new villain semi-based on Alexia Ashford. Jill is back, too, and the gameplay (I use the old RE4 based controls, rather than the new GOW2 based) is very fun and still enjoyable to use. The AI is much better in the enemies and the inventory system being in real time makes the whole experience a lot more intense. As I've said before, maybe I'm giving the community too much credit, but I believe this should be the game to tie classic and new players together, to have some common ground.

This is a forum, it is not private, it is general. You can be talking to anybody.
And the argument was between Gradon and Darkmoon and BLSR, neither I or you should have been involved if you want to be CORRECT.
I want a Code Veronica REmake
Edit: Now I am not sure if above poster knows what Resident Evil is. RE5 is getting back to what it is? RE started in a fucking mansion with zombies and a deep eerie desolated mood and tone. Now tell me, is RE5 doing that? No, it's more action and about killing then surviving.
Actually being CORRECT, Darkmoon is a moderator. He has nothing to do with it.
That's where Resident Evil started. Your above post makes me question your intelligence. Capcom is a business. Okay? Good. Resident Evil is one of their main franchises. Any franchise, be it film, game, is due to adapt to their audience. Were you actually part of the community or a Resident Evil fan, pre-RE4? If you were, you'd remember that people used to actually COMPLAIN that we always had so much of the same thing. Isolated environments, killing zombies, with the old, archaic gameplay. I think you'll also find that the majority of the RE community also praise RE4 and RE5 for their gameplay, it's just everything else they didn't like.
The games had to evolve their gameplay or the series would have died out. You seriously think people didn't like RE4 because of the gameplay? RE4 is hated across the community because of its poor story. Poor characters. Lack of character development. Lack of general story development on the rest of the series, and the lack of connection to any story in the series. It was barely even related other than a title. By getting back to the series, I mean it's getting back to the story. The characters. The story arch which has been developed over a series of games. It's getting back on track. There's only so much "eerie mansions" they could do, and they listened to what their fans wanted by adapting the new gameplay.
You really thought RE5 would be in yet ANOTHER "creepy mansion"? And you claim I don't know what Resident Evil is? Resident Evil is about the rise and fall of Umbrella, the protagonists, and the story. Not "creepy mansions". What a fucking joke.
People prefer Zombies over Ganados, infact some HATED Ganados; Ganados being enemies are part of the gameplay, so technicly, they hated part of the gameplay.
Also, you don't seem to be an older member than me, and since I joined after RE4, how do you know it was filled with "RE is always the same now!!!"?

I'm done with your fucking idiocy and your arrogance. You asked about the damn start of Resident Evil, and the start was a fucking mansion. Are you that fucking stupid to mis-interpret my easy grade 1 question? GTFO.
Do you think this is the first community I've been on, or that I've only been a part of the Resident Evil fanbase since Nov '08? I was on even reHorror in April 07 and Capcomunity in October 07, so forgive me if I don't tremble at your join date. I've been a part of the fanbase since the first game even came out. I know exactly what's happened throughout the whole RE series, so please don't try and question my knowledge of it because I joined this specific forum a month ago.
Do you think I don't know some people hated Ganados? I'd like for you to quote me where I said that. Ganados are absolutely NOTHING to do with the gameplay... wtf?
Actually Chris, I said I think Resident Evil is getting back to its roots. It's story and characters. You, stupidly, questioned my ability of "knowing what Resident Evil is", and tried to be a smartass correcting me saying it's all about a "creepy mansion". If you're done with it, there's a big red X at the top right corner of this screen. Click it.
This is actually quite funny that people are now trying to get into a "I haetz RE4" debate with me, when I am one of the people who hate it. LOL.

Ganados are the ones you kill in order to advance in the game and story. So yes they are part of the gameplay, >_> durrrr.
