who's the most underhyped character?

I dont think we'll ever see Barry again since he has a family. Hopefully RE5 will explain in flashbacks what happend to both Barry and Rebecca after the mansion incident. But anyways both Barry and Rebecca are the most underhyped characters IMO.

I also think out of the villains, Alfred Ashford was pretty underrated and is ridiculed whenever he is brought up. He's definitely the most insane character in Resident Evil so far...

I also liked Nicholai.

I would say CV:X was her own game. Sure there were some interactions with Leon and Chris but that game was all Claire.

Well she had a good role, she wasn't in any essence completely overshadowed by Leon. To be honest it felt like RE2 when I watched it (not counting Leon's behavior of course - which was RE4 behavior), so I think you will like it as well.

After all the games we have seen so far I can not say that some characters are underrated. The ones that are claimed to be are simply supporting charachters and as such they fit their roles.

Carlos was severly underhyped. He had the potential to be a great RE character.

Yeah, what ever happened to Carlos?
Underhyped; Fong Ling and to a lesser extent Bruce...
Nickolai, Billy and Ark.
All these characters could and should return at some stage. Even if it's just in a file or an epilogue.

Carlos and Nickolai would make good opponents in a spin off game.

Also, yes! We need a Carlos/Nicholai stand-off. It must happen. It can be a revenge story, with a tropical island and mercenaries who are all ethnic minorities like they are in Uncharted.

Tofu. Just kidding, I do think that Barry has been shunned from the series but he does have a family and has sadly been erased from the series. When people ask about Billy Coen, I just reply, "he's been Barryed(not literally like Jill though)." Anyone could see that Billy had no more use in the story(except for the fact that he's the only character who's previously been to Africa), which is apparently how the creators feel about Barry and as much as I love the character I do agree in a way. Any how I feel as though Claire has been a bit overshadowed, although I think her CV appearence was good enough.

Sure she didn't get to have the whole game to herself, but you could say the same thing about Jill with chris in RE1 and carlos in RE3 and chris again in UC. Personally I just think Capcom's afraid to devote an entire game to one gender because it will no doubt anger some fans. Until RE4, you could pretty much count on fighting as a guy and girl character at some point in the game(Ashley doesn't count because you pretty much just run away). Although, we all know how much different RE4 is than the classics

Definitely Carlos and Nicholai... Nicholai had such good potential to be a major enemy, and Carlos's background with Umbrella could have proved very useful to the others as well. Claire is also under hyped...even in her own game she ends up taking a back seat once Chris shows up. And her role in Degeneration...she didn't even get any real action.
I liked Bruce as well...he had that country twang and good boy personality. Fong Ling was a strong female that I enjoyed as well.

I think Hunk deserves a full game, hes a merc and he went into Racoon City took the G Virus fought Birkin and walked out without a scratch, Id also like to see more of Billy, Barry and Rebbeca even if its a quick few lines I want them to mention them its like Capcom is ashamed of them. Also would like to seem another Nemesis surley they made more than one.
