I'm really surprised HUNK is not playable in mercenaries. I also don't like that there isn't much of a variety of characters to choose from. Was it really necessary for them to make alternate costumes for each character a separate choice. Other characters could've been used for that. They better give us some downloadable characters

The Rockets

TOTALLY missed Wesker.

Unless it's just me, if you look closely, the two rockets Chris and Sheva fire at Wesker go past and over his head into the lava behind him.

Don't say the lava killed him anyways, because he was half submerged into the lava anyways.

Just a heads up on something I think is true(or is to me anyways, if I'm seeing right anyways).

Because believe it or not, while I always wanted Wesker to die, and then again not die and become good or something instead, I didn't want him to die this early and just when the story plot started to pick up. If he is truly dead, I guess Takeuchi messed up big time.

-Spencer dead
introducing him and killing him like that.....not cool
-Bad portraying of Chris and his strenghts
didn't show him as the soldier he is, and how they always talk him as of.
-somewhat ruined the "Jill" I knew


They seemed to be lost at certain points in the game. Cut-scenes were great, but slow-mo was overly done, and some scenes just didn't fit in(?-or maybe because we saw them already in trailers and it looked/felt weird seeing the whole thing).

The rocket hit his head, but even if it missed it would still blow up when it landed behind him causing him to loosen his grip on the helicopter. I think it was a deserving death and it was at an appropriate time. The story picking up? Its been drawn out over a while when you consider that its been a 10 year struggle for Chris/Jill. Thats not to say that bio-terror is over and done with, but the one thing that haunted them since Raccoon City is gone and its a step in the right direction of the world.

I think Spencers plot was a bit rushed but it gave insight on how evil he was, I think he got what he deserved.

Weskers portrayal was great. While his speed seemed overexaggerated maybe that was the original plan for Wesker they just couldnt show it properly with the graphics/systems they had.

Jill is fine, aside from the unexplained blonde hair, she didn't really change all that much. And if she did, it has been 5 years since we saw her in a gametime so thats not too far fetched. My only gripe was they had way too much regarding her unexplained.

There probably will be downloadable characters later on. For now my best guess is that they used these 4 with different costumes because they already had ingame battle animations for them. Wesker and Jill are the only 2 human-like bosses that you encounter and likely have the same motion-cap treatment that Chris/Sheva have so it was easier to implement them into Mercenaries. I would of liked some better costumes though, Chris and Jill in STARS perhaps.

Yeah, I think Chris got his STARS uniform, but they didn't give Jill any new outfits. They just used her flashback costume and her costume at the end of the game. Even Wesker got his STARS uniform.

This is to numerous people, I am not targeting any specific person:

Let the bitching begin. Shocker that everyone's pissed we finally have a solid end to a RE game and not just a "To Be Continued..." style finish.

People have differing opinions and that's fine, but why 'o friggin' why do people complain about the smallest stuff? Hell, even the big stuff like...

... like Wesker dying was inevitable and the right choice. The guy had been causing havoc in Chris' life for 10 years, if Chris hadn't off'ed the douche it'd had been a slap in the face to everything the fans had done for the last 13 years worth of games. Not to mention make Chris look like a complete inadequate tool. And Spencer? We didn't need to see any more of him. No one bitched about the fact that the last 6 canon games (0, 1, 2, 3, C:V, 4) didn't even show his face. He was there to close the chapter on Umbrella for good and show Wesker as an even harder asshole, and his part in the story was done to perfection.

I won't say it's perfect, I won't even say it's my fav. RE storyline from the games, but it was a hell of a final chapter for Umbrella. We can finally move on and see Chris and Leon team up to take down the North Korean and Iranian governments.

The Ending...

You know, i've been following this series since i was about 7, and watching through the cut scenes for this, every single one is like a big fuck you from Capcom, and the ending especially. How can they do this?

The ending was fine. They can only continue the Umbrella/Wesker/STARS members storyline for so long before it becomes retarded. They tied up almost all loose ends regarding everyone involved, if Wesker had survived then he would just of appeared as pathetic in following games. "Ha my plan to cause mass genocide failed but Ill complete it this time!" He would end up looking like a lame villian from a saturday morning cartoon.

The ending also beared alot of similiarities to previous Resident Evil endings. Look at RE1. The mansion exploded and Chris/Jill rode out of there in a helicopter. It was short but sweet. It didnt elaborate on any details or really leave it open for a sequal. Resident Evil 2 saw a short cutscene with Claire/Leon and Sherry escaping. It left it open to continue but it was a definate close to RE2. RE3 just had Jill escaping Raccoon City as it blew up...leaving her to go to look for Chris. There wasnt alot revealed in these endings and it all got straight to the point.

I see you edited your post. But believe it or not, some people actually like HUNK, no need to be rude about it. And since he goes back to RE2, he is somewhat of a series favorite to many people. And about Jill, I can understand why people are not liking the look. Jill has been a burnett for... the last 14 years(1996), and that is what makes her recognizable to fans, the short brown hair style. Thats like if Samus was to have black hair all of a sudden. But my guess is that it was dyed for some reason, but still.

I love Hunk, but again, it's such a petty thing to complain about. Spoiler:

And Jill has a storyline reason for the blonde hair... it's obvious since she has dark hair in the flashback sequence. It's likely been sapped of color from her time in the tube. Keep and eye out for a file in the game that may explain it.

Its not ever said that he injected her with any kind of DNA, his or not. I dont really want to speculate why its blonde, it could be a number of reasons. She was in that tube too, whatever liquid is in there could of done that to her.

I thought he injected her giving her all those abilites, at the least bringing her back to life like he did to Ada at the end of RE2
