  • Left4Dead - What RE5 should have been?

Well, first of all, let me tell you that I'm having such a great time with this game. While playing I realized that zombies from this game (which are AWESOME) could have worked better in RE5 than those pathetic aldeanos-like.
I love Left4Dead and I think zombies, faster ones, can still scare us. What do you all think?

Me and my friend play that game, im looking for a nice internet extended cable for my room so i can play it on my xbox 360, yes that game does scare u at first just because of the swarm's of zombies that attack.

I'm not sure about it working in resident evil, zombies in resident evil are slow unless they are a special type of zombie like those fast ones.

That game is good though, i like the versus alot aswell when you are a hunter jumping on people lol.

I think people need to wait until the game comes out before making any real judgments on it.

        This.

If anything, I think Left4Dead is what the Outbreaks should have been.

I think the amount of those plagas people on resident evil 5 would most likely scare me because there is just so many on some of those clips.

Throwing at you and screaming and whatever else, kind of like being swarmed. I probably will panic a little but i don't really think i'd be too scared by much, more likely enjoy shooting them like i did on left for dead when i got used to it.

Come on, people... I'm just comparing main enemies Zombies - Ganado... I though about Zombies in RE5... that's all.

The only problem with that is then you'd get people complaining about how zombies aren't supposed to be fast, or they're not as smart as the Ganados, or it's still too much of an action game, because the enemies just run straight at you in huge groups, ad nauseum.

At this point, really, Capcom is just in a situation where they're "damned if they do, damned if they don't."

i agree with Jill Lover, id like zombies in RE no matter what they do i just want some form of zombie, and i think L4D looks pretty good, although i have yet to play it.

also id like something like the Nazi Zombies from COD5 in RE5 as well, those things were great fun,XD

Left for Dead is a good game but nothing special. Very short and very replayable - after 20 minutes of gameplay I got bored you just kill zombies over and over and over again. And how many times we've seen the - outbreak in a city - scenario.....

I have to disagree. Today, people dont expect zombies to be slow moving creatures, more like fast running savages like they are in the films 28 Days Later, Land of the Dead, and Dawn of the Dead(remake). Crimson head zombies are one of the scariest things I've ever seen in a video game. When the first RE5 teaser trailer surfaced in 05, the enemies clearly walked and sounded like zombies. I think RE5 would have been just as good, if not better, if fast zombies were in it. At least it would bring back more of the horror element.

I kind of doubt it. There's nothing scary about Left4Dead. If anything, the "horror" in Left4Dead is the same kind of horror that was present in RE4 and I imagine will be present in RE5, and that's not horror so much as it is tension.

Then again, I never found anything scary about the previous RE's (or any so-called "survival horror" title, for that matter), so maybe I'm a poor judge of what constitutes "horror."

Bah, I just played Hellnight a couple of days ago, and even though the graphics are awful, the game is poor, I still screamed everytime I ran into that zombie thing; that, is scary.

Also, Nemesis was scary, Nemesis is still scary, so you can't really say Resident Evils horror was never scary.

RE4 just involves numbers, thats not scary, and RE5 does the same, atleast the demo did.
Same with Left 4 Dead, it's not scary, at all.

                          THIS.

Left 4 Dead is an awesome zombie game, but that's all it really has in common with Resident Evil.

                            Um, actually, yes I can.

                            It's a subjective opinion.

There's no objective definition of what constitutes "scary." I did not find any of the Resident Evil games scary. Nor did I find any of the Silent Hills, Fatal Frames, Sirens, etc, scary.

And I never said RE4 or RE5 were scary. I said they had "tension," something the previous RE games lacked. The point I was attempting to make was that simply adding fast zombies to a game does not automatically make it scary. And Left4Dead is a perfect example of that.

No. Not at all. And Outbreak was great the way it was; all it needed was voice chatting which Ventrillo solved for those of us dedicated.
