Lol thats alot of ammo. Its quite possible but arent they usually on the side and what if they're not that looks like C4 to me.

Those are standard ammo pouches for carrying M4 clips, or any other various assault rifle clips.

They look very prominent (ala dorky), but then again, it could just be the lighting in that shot. It might be ammo pouches, it might not be.

I can't believe I'm arguing this when it's so obvious he's wearing ammo pouches, but those blocks of C4 don't have the velcro flaps that the pouches on Chris' vest (and the pouches I linked to) have.

I'd be willing to bet it's an upgraded container item you can obtain in the game. But they are for sure ammo pouches.

Don't focus on just the white tops look at the bottom, they have straps and and such.
