    In the movie, the damage Curtis sustained is what made him mutate into his second form. Following that, he didn't recieve a great amount of damage. Not enough to make him temporarily stunned with a single bullet. I know sure well what'd happen if I tried to fight Birkin and gave him one shot with a handgun and nothing else.

      Most of the damage Curtis recieved was from the balcony crushing him.

      I'm not trying to defend some of the scenes in Degeneration, but it's not exactly a travesty that Leon stunned an injured monster by shooting it in the face while it was barely hanging on to Angela with it's tentacle.

        Even so, that's not enough. Not when after the balcony crushed him, said monster was jumping around on the walls. In RE2, Birkin wipes out a whole squad as well and sustains a similar amount of gunfire, and it's not until you fight Birkin and shoot him even more that he mutates. And then you have to fight him again and give him a fair amount of damage till he mutates further. Not just one headshot and /Birkin.

        Actually, that's made me think. In Degeneration, does Curtis not go straight from the first form, to the third? In RE2, Birkin had his first form, where he looked like himself but with a big eye on his shoulder and claws, similar to Curtis' first form. But then in RE2, Birkin had a second transformation, where his face was pulled down to his chest and a new formation of bones created a new head, and he was more muscular, but still humanoid; then we get the creature reminiscent to Curtis. Curtis went straight from 1-3.

        Here, Birkin's forms;

        Then with Curtis we get this;

        Curtis Miller (c.1970-2005) was an American doctor and bioterrorist. Having lost his family in the 1998 Raccoon City Destruction Incident, Miller's protests against corruption in the pharmaceutical industry led to his ostracization and subsequent radicalization. In 2005 he played a significant role in the Harvardville bioterror incident and was killed during an attack on WP Corporation's Air Dome Laboratory. Miller was raised in Harvardville, a mountain town in the Midwest, and studied to become

          Wesker's Report II actually elaborates on this. The G-virus will never give a similar result. It's extremely erratic depending on the host. Not all subjects will mutate at the same rate and similarily, none will look the same. The only real "trait" of the G-virus is the eye on the right shoulder.

          And you're forgetting, G-Curtis was HANGING, not standing around. Being shot in the face while hanging isn't something you can shrug off, not even a G-Type. If he were shot anywhere else, it's likely he would've just continued.

            The way I see the shot on Curtis working is the bullet fried his brain. Simply put, when a slug of hot lead enters and exits the skull, holding onto your tentacle rape victim becomes impossible because the messages can't get your hideous tale tentacle thing. So he didm't get killed, he simply got his brain scrambled long enough to cause him to let go.

            It's comparable to stunning the G-Mutant Birkin I guess. You get a lucky headshot (even if you don't get one in game) and it takes at least a little while for the thing to recover enough nerve connections to stand up straight again.

            And yeah, the big eye is the only stable part of the G-Virus. Even the evil English dude (what is with English accents denoting evil?) mentions that it's too unstabble to be controllable. Curtis went futher, faster than Birkin...but he suffered a lot more damage too. On the other hand he held onto his humanity slightly better.

              I posted on another thread with my review on this but just to recap I thought it was a decent film I'd give it a 7/10. I think it had potential and I hope there's a sequel I'd love to see the original in the mansion remade into a Cg movie.

                Personally, I hope we don't see ANY revists to any previous iteration in the series. Umbrella Chronicles showed us how much they can fuck that up. If they go back, they're just going to make thing more confusing than they already are.

                A remake done in the style of the first remake (ie, practically nothing changed, just literally remade) would be alright, but only if they have no other major projects going at the time. I can live without it and it's the last thing on my mind.

                  yeah, I rather leave the Mansion alone. I mean how many times can we revisit the same place over and over again? I mean if they wanted to, they should just get 1.5 back up and running...give THAT a nice remake lol.

                    Ah well each to his own. I'd be quite happy to see Re Zero to 5 remade into CGI movies. I'd be quite happy if the franchise finished after that. I know the Mansion has been remade once already but they still havent done a decent movie and they should.

                      The future CGI movies must have new scenarios and include Barry, Carlos and Rebecca as the main protagonists because seriously I don't think that we will ever see them again in a RE game. So Capcom should give them a chance to star in a movie at least.

                        Nah, I think RE1 should always firmly stay in a game. I'd only like to see a movie version of CVX. One with Barry would bore me though.

                          Please no Barry Capcom, please, leaves him in peace eating sandwiches with his family in Canada.

                          However... I think a game remade into GC movie is a bad idea, It's better to set a movie using a new scenario and a new story, I'm a story lover not a "revival" lover...

                          Another canon movie with a new scenario, like Degeneration, would be great... with BSAA agents Jill and Chris before RE5, together for the last time!

                            I never thought I'd say this, but I just watched some video footage of the degeneration game and it's looks pretty fun. It's basically fighting zombies with all the controls of RE4, seems more promising than I thought. Obviously the graphics are crap and there's probably no voice acting (if we're lucky), but for a phone game it's not too bad. Of course I'm still not going to pay money for it though I'm having a hard enough time saving up enough money to pay off the rest of the RE5 collector's edition.

                              Forgive me is this is fairly self explanatory - but I was watching it tonight and when Angela confronts Curtis after he has injected himself, he explains how he was told of Raccoon City secrets, and that Curtis blah blah blah, but then finishes up by saying "that's why he left me, and that's why he's blown this place up".

                              Is he referring to himself here in a wierd third person way, or was there a third party, because it's terribly vague and I can't help but think I missed something there.

                                I thought it was a brillaint movie, i dont care about the graphics (although claires face was modeled perfectly) even my familey watched degen because it wasnt what they expected it to be.
                                Some people say that leon was a bit stiff, but dont forget this is all motion captured, so its the motion actor that was the problem (not the face, but the way leon acted in genral)
