The hordes coming after you in the original trailer

The original trailer was a target render for the visual look and concept of the game at the time from what I recall reading in interviews. That said one of the images in the scans from Famitsu, the one Dot just offered better scans of, shows at least 13 majinis in the image (if not a few more on the edge of the image as well). I'd easily believe there is 15 or 16 total.
Sometimes I thought there was too many enemies on screen in RE4, not in difficulty, but just that once you know how to deal with the pack they're not scary at all.
One of the many reasons 1.5 was dropped was because they increased the number of enemies (at a loss of number of pixels per enemy) but in a lot of ways this assisted in the creepyness of the fact when it came to the finished game.
Additionally RE4's best scare (albeit a jump scare) is that guy bursting out of the oven purely over the quiet environment and lack of enemies in the area until he appears.
Lickers in RE2 are one thing I definitely enjoyed, but I still maintain to this day that the hardest enemy in the entire series has been the original's Hunters (and only more so in the DC). Aside from the camera angles, their behavior can be quite erratic, they can double team you to death, and they can swipe your head off in a clean go if they feel like it.
I enjoyed the variety of deaths in RE4, but enemies were very predictable (even the invisible bug things)... I kinda wished the enemies had a little bit more randomness to them.
Edit - Those alligators look awesome.Last edited by Rombie; 01-24-2009, 03:34 AM.

One thing I actually really miss in Resident Evil 5 (and 4) is gibs. You only really ever blow up heads these days, it seem. I guess I must've been spoiled by playing certain videogames of the past where half-bodies were common sight and arms 'n legs would go flying every now and then when you unleash hell upon thyne enemy with mighty powerful weaponry.
What are these enemies of next gen made of? Why don't their heads come off until I've given them half a clip? What does it take to get other parts to go kaput?
If RE5 had hordes of enemies (Dead Rising type of hordes), I would've loved to see something like the Executioner, while after you, just be a bit like El Gigante-angry when he's after you and just plow his way through the horde between you and him. Not caring much for "friends" and just focused on killing foe(s). Right now; He's pissed and it's your neck->his axe!

Dead Rising had the undead, so I doubt they cared; Manhunt 2 involved human torture (?), which got banned in UK and eventually recieved release.
Also, remember the Japanese versions are more cut, RE5 has 18 in UK from the BBFL, they only give 18 to the most gorey games.
You never know, they could include limbs falling off in the final product.

I think if they put that in RE5 though, there'd have been even more trouble in regards to the "racism" rants.
I don't think their limbs are going to go flying off that easily. =PPROJECT Umbrella - The BIOHAZARD/RESIDENT EVIL Compendium

I am really starting to think that maybe the demo was set on easy for most people because all this talk of enemies being dumb and walking right into your line of fire, hesitating when they run up to you and your weapons seem way too powerful on the outset. Do any one you feel that this was just for the demo and that the real game will be much harder as you progress ? I want my hordes damn it lol

The demo still has some glitches as well. I was playing the PS3 version and at Shanty Town where you first can toss Sheva up she just stood there switching from her knife to gun, even after she took damage. I had to kill all the enemies and call to her before she stopped. Also at one point inside that first building one of the majini just stood in front of Sheva for about ten seconds before I blew his head off. I'd say its set to easy or normal...but I don't mind since I plan on playing through all difficulties to get all the trophies.sigpic
Are you tired, Rebecca?
