What's your preferred control scheme for the RE5 demo?
I use Type A. It's the only way I can feasibly play the game. To the people who use Type D, how do you do it? I like the controls, but you can't run and move at the same time. You have to hold A, plus use both analog sticks, which is impossible with only two hands. I don't understand it.
You can run by clicking and holding the left analog stick using Type C and Type D.
I tried the others and it got me cornholed too much. A is by far the best set up for me. Feels like playing 4 all over again, with the appropriate button changes. It was a lot easier to use that set than any of the others. On shanty after you toss Sheva across the gap and run downstairs, it was like magic. Scope, target, dead majini. At least I know I can snipe still, now if I can just find about 450 rounds of rifle ammo.

yeah it's just weird, i played through both levels in type D just to see if it was possible, and it is, but it's just annoying as hell, and it makes the game a chore to play rather than fun.
i don't understand what capcom was trying to acheive with type D, it was supossed to be something easy for the action fans, but it's weirder and more confusing than the classic RE controls the first time you play classic RE.
The above statement isn't stated in the control section but is true, thus making the D very much the eaiset way to play. It makes the game more run and gun and just flow better. You still have to stopand aim obviously but it feels more like the dead space controls which i prefer.
Type A. I didn't really bother spending much time on the rest though.
I just hate how ロ is the action button, and X is the sprint button.
After have ロ as run, and X as action for years, then finally getting used to Outbreaks (and RE3 Dreamcast) where run was mapped to O, this seems even more confusing for my fingers. There's a reason I still haven't passed the executioner stage yet. It's because I'm not used to holding X to run...
i totally agree with you in every way,why couldnt they put the RE 4 controls,i already beat both stages but i always waste ammo pressing square instead of X for reloading.
Type C. With Type D, I can't stand how R2 is knife, and when I try to shoot I always locate my partner. I'm used to the RE4 controls, and I like the extra mobility =p
Type D was fine once I got the hang of it. I just played the demo at a friend's house and I tried Type A, and it went well. I can't imagine playing an RE game where the triggers are used to fire/knife, so I'll probably end up using Type A upon the game's release. Though it is interesting that Type C incorporates every movement. I'll give that a try.
I picked Type A. I attempted to dabble into the other control schemes, but they were very difficult to get accustomed to. Type A just felt so much more natural.
