Resident Evil 5 is playable this weekend in Melbourne, Australia @ the E Games Expo 2008. (Melbourne exhibition centre).

Damn, what a bummer.
I live in Melbourne. I work nights on weekends and sleep during the day but I would have gladly gone without sleep to go play RE5.

wait, that is probably the UK-only release data, becouse for example:
in Italy, Degeneration DVDs and B-rays will be available on hire on December 30, and then on February 3rd available in stores;
and also, in germany the release data is Genuary 8...
so Europe doesn't have a single release data, it's a mess, a giant mess.

Thank fuck for that MGS4 was a pain the ass especially if you wanted to quickly play online where you had to dl a ton of updates, they should re-release it as special edition where online is just on one disc but they'll probably just close the servers instead. imo all online games should also have the ability to played via LAN so if the servers do at one point in the future go offline you can still use systems like http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/ to play online with other users, I had to buy Outbreak and MGS3 just when servers decided to go down didn't I ;-(.
Also all installs should be optional like outbreak.
