Collecting Files In 5

i hope there are files in RE5, they better have them, and i hope you can view them in game, and i hope you can view all your weapons in game as well, i loved doing that in the classics.

I seriously hope you're right. I'm fine with the direction RE4 and 5 have gone in; I think they're fantastic games and I wouldn't have them any other way (although I do wish RE5 had found some way to squeeze typewriters in) but I seriously hope RE5 has files. There is a Library option on the main menu, so here's to hoping they're in. Also, the tutorial messages in the demo, while not exactly files, could be how files are to be set up in the game.

Aren't the files in RE: Umbrella Chronicles for reading in the menu? so maybe RE5's files will be like that, or after a chapter ends, you can read them; OR they'll be set in places in wich no majini can go at that moment (like in the demo... though... the second stage has it right there, if you make the majinis folow you and you start reading it they'll hit you... oun't they? I never tryed)

That's kind of sad to hear about the lack of files in the RE5 faq. I've always loved collecting the files in all the RE games. It's nice to take a breather and read some info about the characters/virus/situation. If anything, the files have made me more attached to resident evil because of the really well written ones such as a few files in RE2 and 3. The Mercenary's diary as well as the operation reports got to me.

Does anyone know if this will come back in 5 ? I personally enjoyed collecting all the files, diaries and fax sheets that were littered throughout the original games, more than even the ones you collected in 4 because at least in the first three games by collecting these files you got a picture of what was happening to people during a zombie invasion or even becoming infected. It was like a whole mini story interwoven throughout the game as you played. I hope this makes a proper come back in 5, perhaps even hinting at what Tricell and Wesker are up to behind the scenes and maybe even have hints about Jill in there too.
