Instead of the Janitor we had in the past games, we now have a time-bending Janitor. From the future.

I think they should have mixed a bit of old and new in the idea of what happens to a body upon death, unless they do come up with some kind of in-game explanation.
I don't see why it would have been too difficult to let enemies you kill stay on screen for either a certain amount of time, or once you've gone a certain distance and/or they are also out of view then they disappear. Similar to something like Dead Space, where the enemy corpses stick around for a little bit, long enough to really get into the horror of the dead things around you. But of course when you come back later, they aren't there anymore.
It would go along with the idea that you're surrounded by death and horror, and at least you'd be able to have some kind of awareness of the results of your actions. As it is now, you kill stuff and the only corpses around you are the boss enemies (I think I remember the executioner and chainsaw guy's body's stay down) and any corpses that are a part of the environment. If the idea of the horror is overwhelming numbers of majini and action, the enemies just kind melt while you're fighting and when you're done and the action dies down, what are you left with? An empty field of battle.sigpic

As the rooms in the latest RE's are way more bigger than RE1-CV, they have to maintain a big map with loads of enemies, while more respawn, so they melt away, as above said, a gameplay mechanic.
and besides, in Remake, the zombies didn't disapear.
Originally posted by LVL100 Merchant View PostI think wanting to know why enemies melt in RE4 and 5 is reasonable. In past RE games they just disappeared and it was a more subtle way to to save processing power and avoid straining the console. But now since Capcom have included a rather... extravagant method of streamlining the game's processes, I think an explanation is in order.

i mean in assassins creed you could have the ground just covered in thousands of body's that never disappeared, why can't capcom have that, so there must be an explanation as to why they melt.
Originally posted by Yzak View PostI'm pretty sure it's just like ... just about every game ever like that, where they just disappear. Even in RPGs. You win, monster goes poof. I don't think there needs to be an explanation for something like that. XD;

Tricell Researcher's Memo
The observation team has made an incredible discovery today.
It has been two weeks to this date that the team began their investigation into what happens to the host after the death of the "plaga" parasite. Upon death, the host body seemed to disintegrate and disappear.
The scientific team studied subject after subject, but were unable to find the cause of the rapid deterioration. The reaction upon parasite death occurred all too quickly for the team to obtain valid data. That was....until today.
One of our chief biologists suggested observing the reaction in extreme freezing conditions. To our surprise, it worked. It slowed the reaction, allowing a clear observation to be made.
Upon death, the "plaga" tries to sustain itself by consuming the host. Using all resources available, the parasite uses its own biological enzymes to break down the physical host in a bout to stay alive. This process can be likened to how the human body begins to break down its own tissues for survival, when faced with starvation. This process is much accelerated and occurs in mere seconds. The process is of course useless given that the parasite will run out of physical substance and die.
Some special individuals infected with the "plaga" strain seem to be the anomaly in this situation, retaining their physical forms upon death. A study into why they defy the basic principles that their brethren live by is currently being investigated.
...if for nothing else than to quiet down these silly questions.

I don't think they will ever offer us an explanation as to why. They should though. In the original Resident Evil games, the enemies used to just stay there until you left the room. I think it should be the same in these new games, where the enemies stay there until you enter a new area. However, with the sheer number of enemies in this game compared to RE4, regarding the feasibility of doing that, I'm not sure.

The fact that this actually bothers people enough to ask about it boggles my mind. You might as well ask Capcom how the item boxes are able to share the same items despite being in completely different areas.
It's just a gameplay mechanic. Sheesh.

But yeah, it really isn't a big deal. Just seems strange that other games can keep bodies on screen at least for a short time until you leave the general area, but not BH5.sigpic
