He hates him because of Re1, dont think anyone has mentioned his failed attempt to kill Chris in Code. Plus he worked with him in S.T.A.R.S. Wesker is pure evil and Chris is pure good so probably pissed him off with all his lets protect and serve speaches. Never really thought about it till now maybe there will be another reason explained in Re5. Maybe he is his long lost brother and they was seprated at birth while Chris was raised by a good loving family Wesker went to live with Darth Vader.

I always thought that Chris is the one who seems to be the one person who keeps getting in Wesker's way. Wherever Wesker goes, Chris follows and foils his plans to an extent.

I also always felt that Wesker should be just as pissed off at Barry too, since Barry does turn on Wesker in RE1, doesn't he? Wesker's plans were going well until that happened.

shouldnt wesker be praising chris, i mean, wesker would probably be normal, not a surpervillian, not taken over umbrella(trying to), and would be dead.....but not super powerful =/

Indeed but his plan still revolved around "Let the surviving members of STARS witness my death, then they die too." thus defeating the purpose of faking his death, how would Umbrella know he was really dead otherwise? Any security camera footage in the mansion would be destroyed in the self-destruct.

Still I put this down to sloppy writing and a hastily applied plot hole patch.

Wesker expected the STARS team to die, he expected to 'appear' killed, leave Umbrella, take their files and combat data to the new organisation.

He awakens to find the Tyrant dead, hence no combat data, and Sergie blocks Red Queen. As he mentions in Wesker's Report [1], all of his sacrifice was for nothing - he had no bartering chip to buy himself into his new organisation. So therefore he hates Chris for ruining everything he had planned. Wesker aftwards, needed to go back to the drawing board and after Rockfort, decides to use him to get to the Red Queen in Russia in 2003.

They've a great chemistry - they both seek revenge on each other for whatever reason.

That's my point though, why 'appear' dead to someone who you are going to kill five minutes later. When releasing the Tyrant either the Tyrant or Chris were going to die and neither help his plans.

That's a pretty good explanation; Wesker is now an inhumanish-monster so he could convincingly leave Umbrella, and if Sergei hadn't blocked him out, he would have succeeded.

Yea I agree with what a lot of people have been saying about Chris foiling his plans repeatedly, etc. I think that Wesker does share a mutual hate for Jill, thus possibly capturing her in the events preceeding RE5. This act is a bit like hitting two birds with one stone. I don't think he is as focused on the other survivors such as Rebecca and Barry because he's aware that they've probably moved on with their lives, where as Chris and Jill will continue to hunt him until the end.

Chris smashed Wesker's favorite pair of shades, dumped out all his hair gel and burned all his black clothing. Wesker seeks vengence!

Lol, just kidding. I'm really hoping that RE5 will shed some more light on this situation. We all pretty much suspect that he despises Chris due to him messing up his plans. But perhaps they might drive deeper during a flashback.

I don't really think Wesker is pure evil. I mean he is evil, but he has his own motives and plans in the back of his mind. Much like Ocelot, he will backstab to get what he wants and double cross. And since he has like every virus known to man, he can play the cards without any regret.

Ironically, it seems every RE game Chris is in, Wesker is 2 steps ahead of him and in the game as well. Much like a strange bond between them.

Resident Evil is self explanatory since they were on the same team.

Resident Evil: CV has Chris helping out Claire, but wait Wesker is also around the military base, I believe to find Alexia.

Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles: (If it's cannon) They don't actually meet but Wesker and Chris are in the same facility, rooms apart.

Resident Evil 5: The epic confrontation continues....

Except in Wesker's Report he claims Chris is to blame for robbing him of his humanity. Which doesn't make any sense.

Look, I love RE. I love how dumb the story line is. I love the gameplay, the atmosphere, everything. I'm just interested what Capcom's reasoning is for Wesker having a hatred for Chris.

What? Don't come this way!! NOOOOOOO...

I thought he took Birkin's virus before he died (well this is considering that was most likely not considered back in 1995). So I suppose the virus made him batshit dumb also- well along with calculating.
