IGN's Guide to the Heroes of Resident Evil

IGN has posted an article discussing the various heroes and heroines who have appeared throughout the Resident Evil series. Obviously, there's nothing here that fans of the series won't already know, but it's a fun read if you have some free time.

Interestingly enough, they claim that Jill is a reformed cat burglar, drawing from the S.D. Perry novels rather than from the games' canon. Other than that, it's relatively error-free.

Ada Wong is conspicuously absent from the list, but IGN may be saving her for the inevitable Guide to the Villains, even though she technically is not a villain.

Ada really isn't a hero though since we don't know exactly what organization she works for. I don't like how they used Perry's explaination about Jill...but that is something I can get over.

i found a few small mistakes that don't really matter.

the Jill is a cat burglar thing, but i don't really care about that anyway.

really? im not sure many poeple like Leon S Kennedy, even though i like him myself, i know he has a lot of haters, and Chris, well he's not liked by all either.

But really, can you blame Nemesis for wanting to chase her around the city all day?

lol, we all secretly know he wanted to pull her blue tube top down, but Jill is not gonna let that happen is she.

Barry Burton's biggest claim to fame in the RE games is his stupid mouth. He was the one that coined th term "Master of Unlocking", and many gamers still haven't forgiven him for it.

Alpha Team found Rebecca holed up in a closet in the mansion, When Rebecca first fled the initial zombie attack

in RE1 she was in the medical room and Remake she was in the hallway with Richard, where on earth is this closet? and i would call RE0 Rebecca fleeing a zombie attack.

If Chris Redfield is the main man of Resident Evil, Leon S. Kennedy is the determined guy clawing his way up the ladder. Leon has starred in just as many games as Chris,

firstly, Chris is NOT the main hero of RE, not even the main male hero, there all the same, it's an esemble cast.

and Leon has, RE2, RE4, Gaiden, Degeneration.

Chris, RE1, Remake, CVX, UC, RE5.

also, i find it quite funny Leon is so far back on the list, even Billy is before him, bad sad that Claire is ever further back, why does everybody forget Claire?

nope, RE's main cast is Jill, Claire, Leon, Chris, Wesker and probably Rebecca as well now.

and there all important, and if there was one who was the most important, it would be Wesker.

you forget the NOT after is there Dark Chris.

maybe he is the main MALE HERO, but i would argue Leon is also the main male hero, and Wesker has more importance than both, but is a villain.

but still RE's main character is called, JillChrisClaireLeonWeskerRebecca.

I need to remind you missvalentine that Chris is the only character who's playable in 4 games. I'm not including Remake, Deadly Silence and the battle mode of Resident Evil 2.

Other RE characters like Jill, Leon and Claire are playable in 2-3 games.

last i check 6 beats 4.

plus she's in the RE2 movie.

and even if you don;t add the other games, it doesn't matter, because the next game wil have Jill or Claire, it's just the order it;s going in.

RE1- Jill and Chris

RE2 - Leon and Claire

RE3 - Jill

CVX - Chris and Claire

RE4 - Leon

now it's started again, with Chris, so Jill is next most likely.

besides, if you really want to get technical, lets go into the sales fugures for each game they have been in.

RE1 - sold 5.08 million and had Jill and Chris.

Remake - sold 1.35 million and had both Jill and Chris.

RE3 - sold 3.50 million, and had only Jill.

CVX - sold 2.54 million, had only Chris in it.

RE UC - sold 1.15 million, had Jill and Chris in it.

so, add all those up, Jill has a total of 11.13 million games sold with her playable in it, not including RE DS or Marvel VS Capcom 2 or any other spin of or mini game where she is playable or movie.

and Chris has, 10.09 million games sold with him as the playable character in it, not including any mini games or RE DS or any other apearances.

so, Jill still beats Chris.

and plus, RE5 is still unreleased, so it doesn't count towards Chris's tally yet, and Jill may be playable in one part as well.

and well, 11.13 copys of Jill games still beats 10.09 copys of Chris games sold.

anyways, my point is, none of the characters can be called the primary protagonist.
