I could see RE6 following RE5's footsteps with co-op, depending on how successful it is of course(sales). Maybe Chris and Claire? Or Leon and Claire? Or the dream team of Chris and Leon? Or maybe an old character and a new character? If they're gonna close out the storyline in two games, they better start killing off some characters. No one likes a series where everyone lives. Someone should get freakin' infected by now.

When me and Gareth asked this question on Friday, he didn't say this was the last game of the RE series. When we queried further, he said it'd be fair to say it's wrapping up Chris' area of the storyline, and Chris' story, but not the series in general; meaning it's very likely we'll have more Resident Evils.

If it's wrapping up Chris's storyline, is it safe to say they're also wrapping up Jill's?

Because, I mean, aren't Chris and Jill's story one and the same?
        1. They were at the mansion together
        2. Jill escapes Raccoon, goes to find Chris
        3. They go to Russia together
        4. They're in BSAA together
        5. They're both in RE5(*gasp* spoilerszzz)

but surely wrapping up chris,s story means his arch enemy must die ?

It doesn't necessarily mean they're wrapping up Jill's storyline. They didn't mention anything about that.

              Spoiler:

You know, her "possession" will probably end up with her breaking that control and being the one to make the heoric kill or sacrifice.

Yeah, she truly deserves a lot more.

As for Chris' story being wrapped up - if that is the case, he should be the one to kill his bete noir, Wesker.

Seeing Wesker die at the hands of someone else, especially knuckle-child Leon, would be the biggest joke ever.

As for the post-RE5 viral videos...they are terrible. Chris would not succumb to mental trauma so easily. I think the choice to produce those videos was not a good one. Just my opinion on that.

And even non-RE-related media: Marvel vs Capcom 2, a cameo in Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix, that game with aliens (which name I forget at the moment) where there was a Raccoon City level...

I think it's safe to say this will probably be the last time we see Wesker and Chris fighting each other, whatever the outcome.

I think Jill deserves an ending worthy of her, considering she was one of the first in the RE series and is a main protagonist. I'm far from a Jill fangirl, but even I wouldn't like to see her go out being an evil puppet for TriCell. She deserves more than that; and considering the vast Jill fanbase, I don't think Capcom would just finish her off like that. Capcom never said anything about them wrapping up Jill's storyline in this game.

Yeah, I agree about the Kijuju videos. I don't think they match Chris' personality at all. I've always viewed him as a strong, determined person, not someone who'd just crack after an event in Kijuju. Especially considering he's already (twice) seen zombies ripping the flesh from living human beings, and chose to fight on.

Yeah, she was in RE1, RE3 (first time in the series that a character got their "own" game), REUC (featured the most out of any character as she was in THREE of the 4 main scenarios), and now RE5.

She also made cameo appearances in "Pocket Fighter", "SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters Clash" and "Marvel vs. Capcom 2." Jill also appears in "Under the Skin." And she was a character in the atrocious film "RE: APocalypse."

You know, now that I think of it, maybe they should just do away with the "Resident Evil" title? Perhaps call the series, "The Jill Valentine Chronicles?" Or do like filmmakers did when Schwarzenegger became such a star, and started putting his name over the title of the film? You know...maybe something along the lines of: "VALENTINE, Resident Evil 6"

I, for one, feel that Jill & Chris' stories are intertwined. I think they will probably wrap up their mission together at the end of RE5 and head off into the sunset together. (EDIT: That is what I believe should happen.) I have always believed that they have strong feeling for one another, and that is why they act as they do at the end of RE1, and why Jill's epilogue file in RE3 indicates that her lone goal is to find Chris. And then we end up at RE5, where Jill's presence (and lack thereof) is such a factor in Chris' continued adventure.

I Imagine that she will have a truly heroic turn in the finale of RE5. No good character turned evil ever goes without a redeeming conclusion.

That, for one, is why I also don't like the Kijuju viral videos. Chris, going on a date with the Asian woman (nice choice though), indicates that he's moved on from Jill. Shortly after the horror of Kijuju, the guy is finally going on a date? He didn't ever seem worried about the stuff in the past 10 years. Now all of the sudden he does, even though he's suffering from a mental breakdown?

Also, in the first viral video...Chris is an emotional wreck, while Sheva (in the audience) appears calm & collected. Seeing as she's with him the ENTIRE time means they saw the same things. And Chris, being 12 years older than Sheva and more experienced with bio-terror (not to mention the "death" of Jill in 2006 - which would be the most likely thing to make him snap), would be the least likely person to buckle from mental duress after defeating Wesker.

Then you see Claire (VERY inexperienced compared to her OLDER brother) in the 3rd viral video and she is unaffected compared to Chris, even though they've both seen many nightmare experiences firsthand.

I know the viral videos are for marketing purposes, and that they are trying to imply that the RE5 game will "leave you scared sh!tless" (or whatever), but for these to be (I think) declared canon is just poor.

Yeah I will follow on Alexia's point and add that I really don't think these Viral videos are canon - I just can't see it.

Resident Evil, generally isn't known for bad endings. They good guys often always triumph and I can't see them changing that formula for what is looking increasingly more as Chris's final game. The devs have always said Chris is one of their favourite characters and really can't see them putting Chris out on anything other than a high point.
