based on the reaction they've got I highly doubt Capcom would kill Jill like that I also doubt the canon of those virals that said, this RE5 "is the last" stuff Is bs look at Tomb Raider,Aliens,Star Wars, Indiana Jones,Mortal Kombat,Terminator and Metal Gear(how many times did the developers say "this is the last" for those) Plus this is the same company that has milked Street Fighter 2 for 20 years.

I'm not implying that this is the last RE, but in another post someone stated that this could be Chris' final adventure. Which is very plausible, as the guy ain't getting any younger. And how much longer can they draw out the Chris/Wesker thing? Do we need to see them fighting in wheelchairs?

Come on guys.. Considering we're all tired of hearing about Jill, every thread I read seems to be infected with Jill-ness. I should rename this thread "the ending of Jill's legacy".

I'm not gonna discuss her anymore. Capcom didn't comment on her. In regard to the Wesker and Chris storyline, I think this may be the last game we see them in conflict, especially considering what they said about wrapping it up. One or the other must die. With S.T.A.R.S, I don't think they're over just yet. There's too many plotholes and loose ends to tie up. Barry, Rebecca?

I wasn't implying you boob just saying when you hear "this is the end" You should take it with a grain of salt

As for Barry - too old.

Rebecca - she really isn't a very cool character in my opinion. She was already farfetched in RE0 and RE1. I mean, an 18 year old field medic for a special forces law enforcement unit...and she had a full medical and chemistry background...by age 18? And she whined. Rebecca is not as great as everyone thinks I am afraid.

As someone said in this thread earlier, having anyone else besides Chris be the one to kill Wesker would be absolutely ludicrous. I honestly don't see Capcom being that inept. This is why I'm about 95% sure that Wesker will die in RE5. Why? Because if Chris kills Wesker and he moves on, Wesker will either A. never die, which is stupid, or B. get killed by someone else, which is just plain ridiculous. Maybe they'll have an epic, double-uppercut ending where they both fall into a volcano together, punching each other in the face on the way down...

There's one thing I know for sure: RE5 is gonna be an emotionally-charged roller coaster from beginning to end. And why is that? CHRIS REDFIELD vs. ALBERT WESKER. It is RE5's storyline's main selling point. Chris trying to kill Wesker so he can finally just move on in his life, Wesker fucking with Chris's head even more because it's his favorite hobby. Without this relationship in the storyline, I feel like I'd enjoy RE5 a whole lot less than I expect to.

In all honesty, I feel like Barry and Rebecca have been swept under the couch along with Billy Coen and Carlos Oliveira. The only difference, though, is that I feel like Billy and Carlos really were not all that important to the storylines of their respective games, and in turn, are not important at all in the grand scheme of the overall Resident Evil storyline.

No, someone else asked me about Jill and I answered. Everytime I see Jill discussion or "Is Jill birdwoman", I feel like thrusting my head through my pc screen. It drives me crazy I tell you O.O!!!!!! *Dips head in cold water*

I never really liked Barry or Rebecca to be honest. Didn't interest me in the least, but I still think they're both loose ends which need tying up.

And yeah Chris, I agree. It's sort of the Alexia-effect too. Chris can't fail. If Chris fails, Wesker will destroy the world, which obviously can't happen for the series to continue. That's why Chris had to kill Alexia, unfortunately, and no one but Chris will kill Wesker.

Oh, yeah, someone did ask you about it. My mistake. And yes, more than anyone, I know of the irritation caused by seeing "Jill this..." and "Jill that.." over, and over, and over again.

And I also was mistaken about Barry and Rebecca. I thought you were implying they needed their own games. Yes, I do agree that there are many loose ends to tie up. Simple ones really, that can be addressed in a cut scene, or a text file.

As for characters...I wouldn't mind seeing Claire, Sheva, or an adult Sherry in a future RE game. Billy would be alright, I guess. (I won't even mention the one character I utterly despise, who will get more games of his own in the future...) Carlos, I never liked, and I hope he just stays gone. Some new characters would also be fine. With the many branches of BSAA, there is the opportunity for previously unseen characters to be inserted.

But at the end of this game, I pray they settle the Chris/Wesker feud, once and for all. Wesker is a great villain (to me), but he can't overstay his welcome.

Unfortunatly it probably won't be the last game, as much as it needs to be before the game turns into something totally different than the series we've loved for so long.

In other news, these are the events I believe will occur in Resident Evil 5.

1. Chris will defeat Wesker, who will fall into a Volcano and melt to death.

2. We will have the ability to REMOVE whatever is affecting Jill; but, she might still see her demise. I hope not.

3. I think someone will kill Excella (hopefully Jill after being cured). It will be a sexy boob war, and Wesker won't really care.

4. I think Wesker is homosexual... just sayin'.

PS: If Sherry is in the game, I believe we will only see a blip of her in the ending, forementioning she will take over Wesker's work, which leads to a Claire leading RE6 hunting her down (that would be fun)!
