Well...nothing to tie them to nazi party other than being blonde genetically enhanced super people with a penchant for expirmenting upon innocent folk and the occasional torture session. Then again, that might just be Umbrella. Alexia, Alfred, William Birkin and Wesker are all blone. Maybe Spencer had a thing for blondes?

Oh, and the evil torture and testing on random folk bit deffintely seems to be an Umbrella thing.

Ashford was a Saxon name derived from Germanic tribes, apparently.

        Questions:
        1. Have the Nazis ever been mentioned or alluded to in the Resident Evil storyline BESIDES these comics?
        2. Are the comics canon? (Please, no, no no no no...)

1 - Apparently not, although Umbrella does seem to challenging them for the most human rights violations ever.

2 - I'm not sure, but from what I've seen I hope not.

And Saxons and ancient Germanic tribes are not relevant to someone who existed 10 years ago. When Alexia was born in 1971, "Ashford" was an English name. She was also born after Hitler and Edward and Alexander were involved with Umbrella, not Hitler and the nazis. Their allegiance was to Umbrella.

Blondes torturing innocents = Umbrella. Rockfort Concentration Camp = Umbrella.

If anything, Umbrella could have been involved with Nazis, not just the Ashford family. Something as significant as that would have been mentioned in the Ashford Family tree.

I was thinking Umbrella, or it's precursor, might have links. It would certainly explain a few things about them, if certain rich aristocrats (Spencer, Ashford and co) helped smuggle the nazi's out. In return for, say, large sums of money and the deeds to land, scientific knowledge, and the occasional batch of political undesiarable from whichever countries the fled nasty guys happen to clandestinely take over.

Speaking of the Ashford's here's probably the best place to post this.

I was playing through CODE: Veronica last week when I noticed in one of the files, always kinda side swiped me and I have always missed it:

Within the facility, I'll have a room built. It will be similar to the design of my mansion, the legacy of the late Trevor.
This information is found within ALEXANDERS MEMO and brings about a very interesting thing, it appears - from this file that the Mansion which we always regarded as the Spencer Mansion actually originally belonged to Alexander does it not?!

Don't forget about Operation Paperclip, when the United States government recruited a number of former scientists from Nazi Germany after WWII. The details of which are still mostly kept under wraps even today, but what's to say they didn't recruit some unsavoury types from the concentration camps? We already know that the U.S made an 'arrangement' with Shirō Ishii of Unit 731, they granted him immunity from prosecution in exchange for his research.

Very interesting theorizations of Nazi's and the Ashford family... So what would this have to do with the Sonnen Treppe, other then the name of the plant having a German meaning?

I mean sure, I can see how one could relate Rockfort Island being a Concentration Camp. I'm sure you could relate many Resident Evil games to having torture devices used in such manners. I think the Medevial times have more of a chance in relation to the games then the Nazi theory. There are tons of items through the whole series as a whole, with RE2's Precinct had a very dark theme of Statues and Medevial. Same with RE1, RE:CV, RE4's castle and obviously the Occult...Well, I guess I don't know where I'm really going with this...but all in all, we can theorize all day about this. So I do like the discussions and seeing where it's going...but I don't think any of this matters untill we have our answers from the game itself.

Hm, that's very interesting, but I don't think it holds much water because it's the Spencer mansion in so many other games, including REmake which was after CV.

Mistranslation or mere error on Capcom's part. Nothing more.

                            Ah, speculation.

This reminds me of the days leading up to RE4 with all the wild theories circulating about, and then the game was released and things turned out to be so much simpler. I fully expect it to be no different with RE5.

Also, unless RE5 specifically states otherwise, I don't believe the BSAA website should be held above the information contained within CODE: Veronica regarding the creation of the T-Veronica Virus. You would think Alexia would know more about the creation of the virus than the BSAA since, you know, she created it.

This is a good theory Mr. Spencer but I don't think capcom could come up with something this intricate. Depending on what happens with Umbrella in this game, it is possible that the viruses might get only a mention. I think it will be more of, hey Wesker and Excella have all the viruses and have bin experimenting with them. Hopefully the game with have files that will explain what has be going on with the villagers and creatures we see in the game. The last trailer when Chris was talking about Umbrella, it made it sound like Umbrella was still a player but personally I think the Umbrella symbol is an old one. Guess we will have to wait until the game comes out.

                                wow great theory Mr. Spencer.

i think it could be possible, and the Nazi Comics give this more validity, but it's a stretch though, but great theory though, very interesting.
