Your RE5 Play Through Progress (TAG SPOILERS)

The Platinum Trophy is now mine. Nothing left to do but get infinite ammo for 6 more guns and just enjoy the gameplay. Quite a relief, really. Now I can simply play the game without feeling like I HAVE to do something or rush through to get a good rank or beat a difficulty.

I'll probably never play past Normal difficulty again, just so I can slug around the environments and plug the enemies with every kind of bullet in the game. Every playthrough can now be like my first one where I soaked in everything.

I liked it and hated it. My main gripes are:

First time I made it to the last Wesker Battle, I just waited till his chest opened and played a game of find the rocket. It was 2:30am when I got to him and just wanted him out the way. The 2nd time I went through, I tried the normal way with Chris grabbing wesker saying to shoot through him, I found that annoying.

I found the going back and replaying chapters, being available on the first play through annoying. I tended to go back over 1-1 1-2 to get some health/ammo.

Sheva's and Even chris's AIs are terrible. Spoiler:

In the Free Jill battle, Jill kicked me making me go into the dying phase and Chris went off and grabbed jill and watched me die.

The lickers pissed me off to no end, though I was happy to see them return. Surprised no Hunters returned. First time I saw a Reaper I thought the Chimera had returned.

This game is fun to play with an average plot, but it lacks something RE4 had. *Goes away and starts to stroke and covet RE4* Well I may be done for gaming, my three favourite franchises have been killed (Silent Hill, Final Fantasy [god I got fed up of FF XII], and now Resident Evil). Maybe I'll go get a cane and wave it about saying " the good ol' days, when you ran out of health you ran out of health, you couldn't purchase any more" and "What ever happened to having to get a good ol' crank to solve a puzzle".

I love my RE5 and everything about it, I only hate the "Hairy Barry" fight, it could of been an amazing show down if it wasnt on rails, other then that, I hope some good DLC shows up like more guns, maybe some side missons and of course new characters to use in story mode.

Doing my fourth walkthrough in Professional mode. Definetly easier with Infinite Rocket Launcher, Magnum and Gattling Gun. Just one achievement away from full 1000GS... until next week I suppose. Then I'll have to get the DLC.

Storywise I'm uncertain if I really enjoyed it or despise it. Time will tell,

The death of Wesker is really a huge milestone for me. He was my main interest of the series' developing, and now he's gone...

Still, on gameplay and graphics I don't have any problem. It's fantastic. I loved RE4 and I'm a HUGE fan of the older style, but still satisfies me what the developers did here. The cutscenes are EXCELLENT, they have this movie vibe (which came clear to me when I watched the CE Bonus DVD) and added a lot to the game.

I'm expecting more DLC than just a "deathmatch" mode.

DLC that would center on Jill's story after the removal of the control device on her chest... as she's really agitated when talks to Chris in the boat. Give me that and my extra characters on Mercenaries and I would be really happy.

The last chapter was dissapointing because it wasn't really much of a boss fight too bad wesker died. I dont know how they are going to make RE6

There was a recent Bionic Commando dot com podcast with the producer of RE5/LP who said alot of people want a side story with Jill...but people involved with the game are tired as the game just came out. So once all the hype dies down...its possible it will be made then. I personally think they left enough open in the game to allow a Seperate Ways with Jill, the whole escaping part especially.

Just updating my post progress in this topic... I finally finished the game two days ago, had been stuck due to work. I was digging the game up till the start of the 6th Chapter... but after that the cracks started to appear.

After chapter 3 there seems to be an order to retreat that Josh is talking about. Does the actual mention of this order ever occur before its mentioned here? They go into the caves and Josh is talking about getting an order to retreat changed and get backup. I didnt recall an order ever being mentioned before this. Not terribly important but maybe I just missed something.

Yea I wondered about this too. There was never an offical orders from the HQ to retreat. After Chris and Sheva defeat the Ndesu Chris says there is no more orders from here on out.

the first chapter because all the bosses drop alot of treaser and i kill the uroburos with a ininite rocket launcher and he drops gold ring like the exacutioner

I have completed the game close to 7 times now and i can't help but to love how the fighting sequences are. Especially the one with Sheva and Chris vs Wesker on the Aircraft. All the button pressing reminds me of the knife fight with Krauser. I can't say that anything else reminds me of RE4 because RE5 is just sooo much better than RE4!

Great game overall! I rate 9.8/10

I'm playing on Professional and today got from 5-2 to the first boss fight in 6-3. The Sheva AI is actually pretty damn good, I've had no major problems with her at all.

I've completed it twice thus far. Did normal first then amateur for a speed run to get the infinite launcher. I'm working on veteran and professional basically at the same time. Doing veteran with AI and professional with a friend. Professional is in the words of the Persian messenger "THIS IS MADNESS!"

holy fuck, finally finished the entire game on pro, had to do it in single player since i'm out of live, god damn that was an experience in itself

contrary to what many people say, the Gigante fight went only after 3 or 4 tries for me, however i died well over a dozen times on Jill. The AI wasn't helping at all and i was basially taking on her single handedly, and god damn every single kick would kill me even at full health .
