Is Capcom actually incorporating ideas from the films into the games?

I, like everyone else, noticed that the laser scene in RE4 was pretty similar to the RE movie. However, I thought of it as a little nod, and that's it.

But I see in Umbrella Chronicles that they not only used the laser trap again, but they even introduced the Red Queen. And now, despite how excited I am for RE5, there are rumors Spoiler:

that there will be Jill clones.

Regarding the RE 5 rumors about the film

I thought there would be many clones of Jill but I am know thinking that it is probably BOW in the other tubes. We know that Lickers are returning, it's possible that other creatures like Hunters could be returning.

Well in all fairness, the movies were really bad for the most part but the Red Queen AI and the laser room defense system were kind of neat. If they were going to take anything from the movies, these would be acceptable things to take.

My only problem with the laser room in UC was how Jill and Chris were able to handle it. Since when have they been able to movie like ninjas?

As long as the protagonist doesn't have telekinetic abilities, I'll be willing to tolerate the games becoming more action-y (even if I prefer the older games )

To be fair, I liked the laser room. RE4 kinda ruined it with the backflipping and ninja crap though.

I prefer to think Umbrella Chronicles wasn't canon... even though I know it is. Anyway, the setting for RE5 and RE Extinction are very different. Besides, I'm quite sure at least 50-70% of RE5 will take place either at night or in dark underground labs/facilities where the time of day doesn't really matter.

See, I don't know why everyone is freaking out that this may happen. Yes, the laser trap is silly, but the Red Queen wasn't such a bad idea, and is in fact creepy imo.

Besides, if clones are on this one, we can't be sure whether or not it was inspired by the movie. I don't think Capcom are stupid enough to take something like that from the films. Spoiler:

That and it would technically involve the deaths of hundreds of Jill Valentines, and if that happens anyone with the real one it's just a huge kick in the teeth.

Oh man I dont know if anyones ever seen the Matrix Reloaded, but that scene with Neo fighting the group of Agent Smith copies in the park. I am picturing Chris fighting an army of Jill clones and knocking them all over the place with his oversized arms. While it would be a horrible plot line, it makes for a funny visual
