All the way through my first playthrough I loved the game and I thought it was one of the best Resident Evils yet. But then on subsequent playthroughs, it just became a chore to play. I missed the older games and how they played and RE4 was just missing something for me.
I'm playing through it now and it's getting to the point where I'm actually sighing when I realise what I have to do now. The whole game gets very....tiring after the Village, which is the only part of the game I truly still enjoy. I hate the Castle section and the Island is only a slight improvement.
I guess this all comes off as a Resident Evil 4 sucks thread, but there are things about it I like....none spring to mind right now but there is something that keeps making me play it again, even if it feels like a chore.
Does anyone else feel the same way?
I have played all RE games and have been playing it since i was quite young, and in my opinion RE4 blew all the other games away...until RE5 comes out that is.
To make comparisons to the other RE games for the RE4 bashers...Lord Saddler/salazar and so on maybe one time bad guys, but they are not much different than say...nicholi, he has only starred in one game andis not a main character (he isnt working behind the scenes or anything else like that). Ive read that some say RE4 is repetitive...all RE games are repetative, in every RE game your solving a puzzle or looking for keys and that takes a lot of back tracking. Ashely...sure, you hve to look after her and sometimes its hard looking out for yourself and Ashley but shes no better than sherry really. To me Sherry is not a main character and wont be returning, i will say the same about Ashley. This is my opinion of course and i dont mean to start any arguments.Last edited by Andyfer_Ruu; 02-22-2009, 05:58 PM.

Haha, I don't think that counts as a cheesy line--Arvine seems pretty unstable as a character judging from that and the first TGS trailer. Heh, fits his personality just fine from what little there is to gather(still haven't watched the last trailer they released, and dont' want too. Watching Super Wesker dodge Chris's handgun him over and over again never gets old. Time to DIE CHRRISS. lol)
Now if Wesker or Excella were too do something that animated. . .eh, cheese indeed. Bring on the over-the-top Richard Waugh laugh from Code Veronica and we're back to the glory days of Capcom and one-dimensional characters in RE. lol. (I suppose RE4 might fall into some of that category ironically)sigpic
