I have all three, and I hate that people don't consider the Wii "current gen". It's just as current gen as the other two, but ZOMFG PHALE GFX FTL.
No.
I love my Wii as much as I love my 360 as much as I love my PS3. And that's the progression I got them in. Wii first, two years ago for Christmas, 360 last year for Christmas, PS3 this year for Christmas. I love them all.
For RE5 however, I play the demo on the PS3 because the 360 wouldn't let me download it for some reason... But I preordered the 360 version. That way I've played it in some form on both consoles. And to be honest, I think that you pay for the quality of the online on the 360. I haven't had any problems with any online (Wii, 360, or PS3), but I think the online of the 360 is the smoothest; I haven't seen a mic chat on the PS3 (then again, I hardly have any friends on PSN yet XD), and if you shell out $40 for a snap-in mini keyboard it's more ergonomically pleasing than the one on the DualShock3 that's on top of the controller, making it easier to type text in.
All in all, I say if you can in the long run, get both. The exclusives for both are great. But for RE5, I really can't judge because I haven't played both versions yet. I'm willing to bet the 360 version will be better though. Just be prepared to shell out an extra $150 for a good wireless adapter and a year of Xbox Live (unless you won't play online that much, then pay for a lower amount. 1 year for $50 or so is the best deal).
