I have all three, and I hate that people don't consider the Wii "current gen". It's just as current gen as the other two, but ZOMFG PHALE GFX FTL.

    No.

I love my Wii as much as I love my 360 as much as I love my PS3. And that's the progression I got them in. Wii first, two years ago for Christmas, 360 last year for Christmas, PS3 this year for Christmas. I love them all.

For RE5 however, I play the demo on the PS3 because the 360 wouldn't let me download it for some reason... But I preordered the 360 version. That way I've played it in some form on both consoles. And to be honest, I think that you pay for the quality of the online on the 360. I haven't had any problems with any online (Wii, 360, or PS3), but I think the online of the 360 is the smoothest; I haven't seen a mic chat on the PS3 (then again, I hardly have any friends on PSN yet XD), and if you shell out $40 for a snap-in mini keyboard it's more ergonomically pleasing than the one on the DualShock3 that's on top of the controller, making it easier to type text in.

All in all, I say if you can in the long run, get both. The exclusives for both are great. But for RE5, I really can't judge because I haven't played both versions yet. I'm willing to bet the 360 version will be better though. Just be prepared to shell out an extra $150 for a good wireless adapter and a year of Xbox Live (unless you won't play online that much, then pay for a lower amount. 1 year for $50 or so is the best deal).

I prefer RE5 on the PS3 because I've been playing Resident Evil games on basically the same controller since 1996. I played the demo solo on the 360 and didn't like how the game felt on that controller. Also, I wanted to play co-op, but my Gold subscription ran out and I didn't feel like paying to play with a partner.

I adapt very easily to controllers. ...Maybe too easily. *looks at the amount of games he's played*

          Oh gawd. XD

And that's why I got a Wii before either system. Gameplay > graphics. Sure, graphics can immerse you, but does that make shovelware on the PS360 automatically better than the Wii? Hell no. Shovelware is shovelware is shovelware.

Wow, you're talking about shovelware in relation to the 360/PS3 and then praise the Wii? *rimshot* The Wii's library averages out to be the lowest rated game library of any system in at least 10-15 years, probably longer.

i pretty have every game system and thats with the wii and the wii is very fun but im more into graphics because who doesn't enjoy a nice clear game. plus wait about 5 months because i bet you that you will find a very cheap xbox 360 or (if your lucky enough) a super cheap ps3. Don't know why they made bluray for the ps3 games dont take that much space not even grand theft auto 4. its just a waste of space and money. =)

I own both a PS3 and a 360. Keep in mind I've had my PS3 for much longer and have only played a few games on my 360. Anyway, here's what I can say:
                    - The Arcade 360 is nice, but pretty useless without a hard drive. You'll need to buy a hard drive add-on, so there goes the $199 price tag right there. A 20GB hard drive usually goes for around $30-40 but you can probably get one cheaper somewhere.
                    - If you want to play games online on the 360, prepare to pay for it. Nothing pissed me off more than this after playing online for free on my PS3 for 17 months. If you don't have a Gold account, you can't play online, which if you ask me is ridiculous. It's why I left my 360 home and brought my PS3 to school with me this semester...I didn't feel like paying to play RE5 online(plus Killzone 2 and MLB 09 The Show are coming out, both PS3-exclusive).
                    - Neither system is 'far superior' in any way. Both systems have great games, and each system has their ups and downs. PS3 has mandatory installs for most games, and the 360 sounds like a 747 on a runway when playing a game unless you install it to the hard drive. PS3's XMB and the 360's NXE or whatever it's called are both pretty comparable, in my opinion. The 360 has better online capabilities like cross-game voice chat, the party system and stuff like that...but is it that much better than the PS3, and worth paying $60-70 a year for it? That's...for you to decide.
                    - Games cost $60 on both systems. Both systems play video games(this part is important). Both systems have good exclusives. Do some research on exclusives to see which ones you like better. Multiplatform games have a history of 'performing better' on the 360, but I haven't seen it for myself, but things like framerate hiccups don't really bother me, so I could really care less.
My roommate has had his arcade with the 256mb internal memory, for like 5 months and hasn't needed any hard drive. If you get a 360 right before RE5 you get xbox live free for a month.

THe xbox is better than the PS3, for now. In a few years, they will finally figure out how to use the PS3 to it's full potential, but until then stick with the xbox.

Just a note. If this turns into a fanboy war I get to A) Ban folk and B) lock this topic. If you can't play nicely then you aren't allowed nice things.

Also, for me the only difference between the 360 and the PS3 are the exclusives and downloads. I very rarely play online, and RE5 will likely be the first, and possibly last, game I play online with at all. And even then it'll be with folk I know and trust, such as Alexia and Spencer from here, or Dot and some of the other American folk.

Basically...see which exclusives you want. Choose that way. If you want online play then bear this in mind...PS3 is cheaper but the you get what you pay for, and the 360 costs cashy money but, well, is better and has a much higher number of people or so I'm told.

And remember: Always buy a Wii, because that's got a lot more exclusive titles than the other two.

I can play Uncharted 2 AND Gears of War 2. I can play God of War III AND Ninja Blade. I can play Valkyria Chronicles AND Star Ocean IV. I'm the winner in this situation. Single-console owners and FANBOYS and FANGIRLS are the losers.
so true, i have a PS3 and 360 as well, so i can play all the exclusives, but i think i still prefere my PS3 over the 360. i just think the PS3 is more refined and seems a lot easier to navigate. i like the XMB a lot better than the blades thing the 360 uses. and 360 doesn't have any exclusives that interest me other the Fable 2 and Gears of War. but there both great systems overall.

but yet still i think the PS2 is way better than both of them combined.

also ive only played the PS3 version of RE5, since i refuse to pay for online on the 360, so im not sure which version is better.

lol, i really want a Wii, but the fact there is only one game on the entire system i would ever play, it's held me back from buying it many times. but soon Dead Space wil be released on it which will give me enough reason to buy a Wii and finally play RE UC.

People that argue about consoles need to have a fork shoved in their eye. My roomate has a 360, I have a PS3 so I've experienced both and I enjoy both. I prefer the PS3 for most games simply because I am used to how the controllers control but that doesnt mean I think its so much better then the 360. The 360 with Live, despite it being lame and having to pay for it, is an incredibly online outlet.

My question is, if you cant play it because you dont have a system....will you read the spoilers/watch videos?

I'll use Moon's saying; different strokes for different folks. I prefer the 360 because I'm used to the controller and it sits well with me. It only really matters which games you prefer though, with the exclusives. I could no way go without Halo 3, Halo Wars or Fable 2, but on the same note I can't wait for God of War 3, Killzone 2 and I've really wanted to try Little Big Planet; plus I can watch all my blu rays in my bedroom now. Both have their pros and cons.

It's annoying to me that the demo is gone in Europe, so I can't see how Resi 5 is gonna feel on the PS3 before I actually buy it. I was gonna buy it anyway though, so I can have the blu-ray version of that DVD. DVDs are sooooo 2007. :re:

I'd say 360, mainly because of live and playing with friends. Plus I find the controls more smoother but this is just my opinion.
