I did and it was AWSOME! loved the part where your in the morgue(s.p) and he goes by, now that is what you call Horror

imagine that in RE5 or dare I say RE6.. something stalking you something that could crush you, those who say the new RE titles are not scary I say that would do the trick.

For me the old games split my brain. One part of me loves the cinematic feel that the fixed camera angles bring and I kind of miss the slower-paced puzzle solving. But then when I get stuck on an object and a 'tarded zombie munches my neck and I die because of tank controls and fixed camera angles I curse the old game engine. And in regards to the puzzles, sure it's cool to figure them out, but sometimes their asinine design takes me out of the experience and simply annoys me. Why the HELL would anyone leave an emblem needed to access a door locked in a draw that's in a room you need to get a key for that's hidden a quarter-mile away "locked" behind a waterfall that needs a crank to block the water so you can access the key behind the waterfall so you can open the door to the room where the emblem is in the drawer, and then said emblem can be used to unlock another door? Oh, and the crank is hidden in a dark hole protected by a massive, mutated beast.

      ::head explodes::

Sure, that scenario is completely fabricated and not in one of the games but it's no exaggeration of the ridiculous lengths you must go through to do the simplest thing. Just walk through the water Chris/Jill... the waterfall won't hurt you any more than a giant snake or man-eating plant will!!!

So, it's a take it or leave it kind of thing with me. The games are still solid fun, but man it takes me about a hour to get out of my RE4/RE5 mindset to go back to them. Ask J_Man757 who watched me struggle through REmake last week until I got a grip on the controls again. I also had to mold my mind into that of an 80 year old demented scientist to remember some of the puzzle solutions. Oh, and walk back to my magic item box 100 times per hour.

      ...

Alright, despite all that I love REmake and I'm going to play it all over again this weekend. Then 2, then 3, then C:V, then 4... holy crap this is a long post, I have to get back to writing my essays.

To true.. I have never seen anyone remeber all those puzzles like that.. let alone seen anyone drop the F-Bomb that many times in one sitting.-taps chin- I did love the atmosphere more then I did in RE4,also half the time while CubedSphere was playing he would have to shoot off screen and listen if he hit the enemy because of the camera angles, and anyone who says zombies are easy to kill.. No WAY! one zomebie took nine shots and still didn't go down.(And no it wasnt a Crimson head.)

On a side note as I am posting this im listening to Deep Blue Sea in the background and wow.. who told LL Cool J to do a shark rap at the closing credits?!?

Oh dude I remember that part. I was like AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH CRAP. I did love that about the first person in UC, the panic you get when the enemies are coming closer.

I know.. if they Remake they should add that part, and also you have the toggle option of a light on ur gun and if you turn it off in some areas Nemesis/ other enemies cannot see you.

Like I said Later RE titles need a character like that, who makes you nervous to go around corners or want to run through the whole game,-cuddles Nemesis- its ok guy nobody gotz to know

I guess something are better rememberd then brought back into the light, don't get me wrong I still love all the Resident Evils and think everyone should own them all for collectors sake, I'll still play RE1-3 anytime its placed infront of me but in the back of my head I yell at the screen saying,"Shoot the *#$@^! in the HEAD!" though I cannot.

Oh well this is the part where I duck under a table and watch the remarks fly at me, but I do stand by what I say.
true, but still i can play classic RE right now and love every bit of it, in fact after playing the RE5 demo, i went and played RE3 and felt a lot better. because replaying RE3 was more fun than playing the RE5 when it first came out.
ik really hate a lot of new control schemes and camera systems, new controls are always made way to easy, i enjoy complicated controls, i love obscure and odly places camera positions. it's what makes a game feel like a game.

and that's why id rather play my PS1 and PS2 every day rather than my PS3 which is currenty unplugged in favor of my new shiny PS2.

Oh yeah, and how much more fun it is to just blast everything in your way and never EVER stop to maybe, just maybe find a more innovative way to do things!

Resident Evil was never about destroying your environment so that it's EASY to go wherever the hell you want to go. It was never about being able to do all that so you don't HAVE to go through solving an 'annoying' puzzle. I don't want to just keep moving forward shooting everything in my way until I have a headache from all the gunfire. The way you (CubedSphere) diss the old style item gathering and puzzle solving cracks me up. Very funny, indeed. But if it's such a problem for you that all that 'can't go under the waterfall' thing was so unrealistic, then how come it's totally okay for you to have an immortal merchant who carries around an arsenal under his trench coat, allowing you to get enough ammo and weaponry to wipe out a small city, yet you're 'supposed' to feel 'overpowered' by and even 'scared' of a bunch of running peasants with rusty pitchforks? Oh, the horror...

I love your editorializing. You didn't quote the part of my post where I praise the game despite its quirks and state I'm going to play through the entire tank-control, static-camera loving series. Additionally, the post was tongue-in-cheek and merely exaggerating the irrational parts of the older game... no one said RE4/5 were perfect. Those "annoying puzzles" were a fun waste of time and memorable parts of my youth.

You need a rest guy, relax.

Again, this is not so when you play it the first time. Unless you some how found a quick way of accumulating money to buy the weapons, you did not have enough ammo and weaponry to wipe out a small village. I ran out of ammo all the time, it wasn't until I played through twice that I had accumulated massive amounts of wealth to do what you are describing. Now I can level a small village.

I AM SOOO RELAXED RIGHT NOW!!!! Just kidding.

It's just that the majority of your post seemed like a diss. You insulted the games more than you praised them. If you actually enjoy something, it doesn't make your head explode. In most cases, at least.

                          No hard feelings

I always felt powerful enough to wipe out a small city. Not a small village. A small city. It was actually fun at first, but then I realized how ridiculous that was and I felt cheated. It does feel like a cheap mindless shooter at times. RE4, that is. I'm sad to say it, but it's true. It's still a good game, no doubt about it, but it made me miss Resident Evil. And isn't that quite ironic? A new RE comes out, and it's great and everything, but ultimately it makes you miss the old Resident Evil. And you miss the old Resident Evil more than you enjoy the new one. It's not supposed to be like this.

I still play the old games, and I love them no less than I did the first time I picked them up. I'm largely a PC gamer, so every console game has tank controls to me. Jeez, in GoW Marcus has a turning circle like a TANK, and aims like his nerves repeatedly misfire.

Anyway, the static camera angles were an aspect I love and will forever miss. You people seem to be misinterpreting what the game was trying to achieve in this regard; not that your were in zombie apocalypse, but you were watching a film of a zombie apocalypse where you had limited control over an avatar. The cameras are placed stylistically as they would be placed in a horror film. It does this far more successfully than any modern attempt at cinematic game play; point out a film where a single handicam over-the-shoulder shot is used for it's entirety? One will never be made.

Resident Evil is a 'film world'. There is nothing ridiculous in a film world, not even archaic puzzles that are somewhat useless from the point of security (if the average gamer can solve it, it's not particularly secure).

Not that Resident Evil is entirely preposterous; it tries to emulate reality in a number of ways. For example, just how many soldiers have you seen shooting while running?

Also, my uncle's brother (I forget how that makes us related, if at all XD) works for this half-mercenary, half-government organization called NRAT, and he trains Navy SEALs.

The correct stance for shooting is that in REmake and RE0 (legs spread apart evenly, gun straight out from your chest with the sights right down the center of your eyes). Not like RE4's where Leon holds the gun more towards one side. But that's nitpicking.

I forgot what was gonna say next. D:
