Its pretty easy. All it takes is finding the proper files in the English version and porting them over ;p. Although some might require some tweaks.

This makes me really want to play this.
Hopefully Japanese versions of the consoles and games aren't that expensive anymore.
Or is it more cost effective to modify your PS2?
I wouldn't know how to do this. Any tips?Last edited by TheOvermind001; 03-30-2009, 03:06 PM.

I wasn't kidding with the book, it's pretty good at figuring out basic Japanese. The romajii system wasn't that hard to memorise. And how dare you? How DARE you make Outbreak videos that are higher quality than MINE. :`(
I wouldn't mind giving out my ad lib revision, but I don't want to make a torrent or anything that gives the entire game.
You're not supposed to play this game outside of Japan. Most players who play at night, USA time, are racists who hate foreigners. So be careful, you can still be banned.Last edited by The_15th; 03-31-2009, 08:26 PM.

If you're not Japanese you're a foreigner. Most players are really cool, but they have people who hate gaijins and that's just a fact. Just giving you a warning. It's best to pretend you're Japanese. Even one stalker is enough to get you banned.

I don't think racism is cool. I've never been upset over latinos who could barely speak english in the US servers. And there's still ALOT of really cool nice Japanese players who are happy to talk english and teach you a few basic words, but I've seen so many other players get harrassed and banned that I'd rather just play it safe. It"s prolly just one or two rotten apples, but it's enough to cause serious trouble.

I dont think there will be an issue. We all play with each other, and I really don't have a desire to play with people who I don't know, or aren't in Skype with us at the time.
I realized though, I'm going to need some beta testers before we make this patch go live. I've made a lot more progress with Alzaires help. Hes been my secretary, jotting notes down as I played XD. I will be able to do a full item translation. The only thing I see that needs a change is the "MIXED HERB" setup Capcom has. Theres really no indication as to what type of mixture it is, so we're gonna change it to "G+G MIXED HERBS". I'm tempted to change David's "TOOL BOX" to "TOOL POUCH", but that would be a bit too modified for my tastes. If anyone wants to offer their help, you'll need an original Outbreak Japan disc, with the ability to play a burned PS2 game. We'll most likely distribute this as a patch that you can apply to a properly ripped copy of the game.
One thing I found interesting was that there are several File 2 items included in the game (or at least, still named in the appropriate files). Looking at the map names, its not really a surprise I suppose. They range the gamut from 001 (Outbreak) to 041 (Decisions, Decisions). The amount of maps they originally planned must have been huge. Makes me really disappointed they didn't follow through with moreLast edited by Dot50Cal; 04-01-2009, 03:20 AM.

Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude.
Butter me all over with a translation patch.
How much will be translated, or to put it another way, how much are you aiming to translate? For example, the main menu and Network play menu? I know some places will be impossible, such as the web pages loaded in the network, but are you aiming for the majority of text?
Oh yeah, just Outbreak 1 for now?

Outbreak 1 for now, but when we're done I'll move onto File 2. As for what we're aiming for, it'll probably be stuff like:
-Adlibs
-Checking backgrounds
-Items/Weapons
-Removing Japanese subtitles on cutscenes
-SP Items (gonna be hard)
I think we also have the event list done and the result screen but I need to check that again. Basically what I want to do is make it playable to someone who doesn't read Japanese. Small menu stuff I don't mind, since its easy to figure out.
