There are poster's around Melbourne advertising the game comes out on Thursday the 12th here, which is Wednesday in America. I took some pics yesterday. Let me upload them.

Would you think that the video game will be released that early in Australia after all ? The earliest I keep getting is the 12 / 0 3 / 09 from EB.

I've no idea if it'll break the street date and got released before the 12nd in Australia...but the Australians in this thread are getting it early through import by Play-Asia

Breaking street date is a huge no-no in the States. Especially retail chains like EB Games, Target, Best Buy, etc. I'm not sure about the rules of Australia but over here the stores get a huge fine and possibly sued. An employee at a major retailer told me that for selling 1 copy of a game early, the franchise was sued and the actual store was fined $27,000.

Be careful about importing. That nfo says Region Free but after doing some research, there are 2 versions of the game online. One by *** and another by *******. *** is labeled Resident Evil 5 and the ******* is labeled Biohazard 5. Both have their origin as Japan. Only ***'s Resident Evil 5 is labeled Region Free but it also says "patched" according to what I've read. Biohazard 5 is labeled as Japan Only.

Import at your own risk.

And no, I do NOT have either pirated version nor do I want them. I'm only posting this so people are aware that the pirated version may have been patched to be Region Free and that their imported legit copy may NOT be Region Free.

I used to work at Kmart. And very rarely did things have hold dates on them. In nearly 4 years the only one I remember a rep actually coming in to check us on was Harry Potter #5.
One of my minions where I used to work is now the guy who backs the trucks in, and signs for all the parcels. I've got him on watch to call me AS SOON AS RE5 gets in to the store. I won't be getting it (hopefully I'll have it by then), but to let others know when they can expect to see it in shops, and, if it does indeed have a holding date on it.
