The co-op was obviously fun. I played through the entire game with the same person and it was a blast. Love how the quick time events depend on which character you play, really involves you in the cutscenes. I missed shooting at Wesker in the airplane hanger battle and Wesker twisted Chris's head. We laughed.

But even I, a huge RE4 fan, was amazed at how unscary it is. At least RE4 had some scary moments, like the regenerators. RE5 didn't even try. And not being able to give weapons to you partner is WHACK. C'mon Capcom...c'mon.

Story didn't really get that interesting until Wesker shows up and the last part of it was all fantastic. I just wish more questions were answered.

I still love the game, but some disappointments none the less.

Yeah i was shocked to, the game impres me all the time by visual point and they canot do some water reflections come on what is this, the marshlands looks like shit, the horrible water kills all the fun of this level, I like it alot but is so ugly, water is like concrete that cuts Chris on half. I hope they realise soon a patch to fix this pathetic water and the level become normal like the 360 version.

Well, if you were playing through the entire game with a friend, chatting away via a headset, then that probably reduced the fear factor considerably, don't you think?

RE4 was NOT scary, just as RE5 was NOT scary.

Wow, then you must have been really disappointed by RE4's story, or should I say, lack of one. As for questions being answered...are you serious? This game ties together all RE games, whereas RE4 didn't answer shit (or even relate to the other games).

Wow. Bitching about the graphics of the water. Wow. Yes, it really "kills all the fun of this level."

          RE4 had a scarier atmosphere than RE5.

I wasn't disappointed because RE4 never set itself up to answer anything. It never gave the impression that it was going to wrap things up.

              This.

I thought RE5 had a much more intense feel, which at times, even with a partner, gave it a much creepier feel than 4. RE5 had a slightly more realistic tone to it. Watching the men in the beginning dragging that guy away, and then seeing them beating that bag gave the game a very dark undertone. If you happen to die in the public assembly, you get a view up at a horde of majini as they hack you to pieces. That was probably one of my favorite death scenes (we didn't see too many...I'd love to see them all). More aggressive enemies to me made RE5 scarier than 4. Not like either was bone chillingly terrifying though. The scariest part of the game was early on when you only had the hand gun with 10 shots and no ammo, and you were facing about 30 majini in a tight passage.

                  Venom has a point there.

I finally finished it early this morning, and I thought it was pretty damn good. It has it's faults of course, such as the terrible A.I., but other than that I thought it was good way to end it. The game had me a bit worried all the way to the middle, because it I wasn't really feeling like this game was going to capture the essence of the original storyline, but towards the end with all the cutscenes it really picked up. Some parts were a bit ridicolous(such as Jill), but the whole chris v.s. wesker scenarious were EPIC.

This is one of the most overrated comparisons between the two versions. Really? The PS3 copy lacks some reflections on the water's surface and all of a sudden it's a big deal?

Let's be honest here, the water looks pretty shit in both versions. Aside from that the game is gorgeous, but man, large bodies of water look pretty lame. Passable, I suppose, but lame nonetheless. That said, I emphasize "large bodies of water" because anytime it's small or shallow pools of water or streaming water it looks quite gorgeous. There's just something about the water at the port in chapter 2-1 and the water in the marshlands that looks like aluminium foil.

The water sucks and that's a fact. The marshlands was a cool level with a lot of water there, and you can't have a water-based level with water that sucks. That's just plain stupid. It's not like it's not possible technically, so Capcom failed there big time.

As I said, the inconsistency within the game is the real head-scratcher. Most of the water looks really good, when it's a waterfall or a shallow pool, as I stated before. For instance, all the water that shows up in chapter 4 looks great, and the water in chapters 1 and 2 is also fine. It's like they just didn't know how to make large bodies of water look or react as detailed as smaller pools and streams.

However, while it's fine to knock the water I wouldn't call it distracting or anything. I still think the Marshlands level is bad ass and all, it's just confusing how sometime the water looks immense and others it looks like a metal sheet.

Man, the water cuts Chris in half. Enough said. That ruins everything. Would the wine inside a wine barrel not be ruined if you dropped a piece of crap in it?

Again, there's no denying it's a weak effect, but it doesn't take me out of the experience at all. Maybe I'm just not that picky. And dropping a turd in some wine would only make it taste like beer.

I don't know what kind of beer you drink. Then again, I don't even want to imagine.

Yeah, I agree with you. I mean, I see why it doesn't bother you that much. It just bothers me, because there's no reason for the water to look that bad when technically it could be much better. Just look at Killzone, a game easily surpassing RE5 in terms of graphics.
