How do you beat the chainsaw guy in RE5 demo?

well,everytime ive gotten it done was with another human,sheva allways gets her HEAD sawn off,but i havent played the demo in march(or late febuary)anyway
have you tryed staying away from it and aiming for the eye?

CubanOlive summed it up quite nicely. Using the red barrels is definitely one of the best tactics for defeating him. If you manage to get him with at least three of the barrels, you won't have to use an assload of ammo to kill him. Also, shoot down the air conditioner unit so you can electrocute him multiple times. It's hanging at the top of one of the buildings, right near the end of the steps from the gate he breaks through.

It's really quite fulfilling when you finally knock him out, especially when you get to pick up the item he has. I was so proud of myself the first time I did it.

Well I got lucky and beat him...and came to the conclusion the rifle sucks against him...

My strategy is to shoot him in the head (two rounds with the handgun in enough) and then when he clutches his face and stumbles back I equip a hand full of grenades and toss them under him. As soon as they all explode I shoot him in the head twice again, kick him, rinse and repeat.

Also a good tip:

There is a trick to reloading. Reloading with the chainsaw guy around can be VERY dangerous. I usually just wait until I can melee him, AND WHEN THAT HAPPENS, I run up to him, Press A to reload but then press X to do the melee, and then your clip is instantly full without a reloading action!

Actually the Sniper Rifle works great on the chainshaw guy. One shot to the head and he goes in stun mode.

the game generously provides around 5 explosive barrels in that area, don't use them on the normal enemies. Makes the fight hella lot easier.

Whenever I use it I get my head chopped off*recoil*Anyway yeah the barrels help alot after that and a few a grenades and handgun shots Sheva machineguned his ass down...

you should obviously use the sniper rifle from a good distance, a head shot guarantees the chainsaw guy staggering for a few seconds in which you could pump more bullets into him or brave it and go for a meelee ..

I can't aim worth a shit so when I tried for the head I miss and the asshole runs up to me and while chris loads the gun he cuts my head off...
