  • Upcoming DLC's revealed?

I'm just going to paste what I posted on Biohaze:

I checked over the trophies list today and much to my surprise, my percentage went down. Looking over the list, 10 new ones were added with such titles as:

-"Army of One: Win 30 matches in Slayers"
-"Eye of the Tiger: Win 30 matches in Survivors".

And there are team variations of Slayers and Survivors. The last weird one that I noticed involved unlocking "selectable characters in Versus".

I haven't booted the game yet to see if there is another patch yet, but I will soon. But Capcom isn't generous enough to offer new modes for free.. they are charging for SFIV costumes after all.

EDIT: Nope, no patch. DLC's aren't up on the JPN store either so I guess we'll wait but I highly doubt it'll be free.

Update: I was logged into the network when I wanted to copy down the exact names of the trophies/achievements and another sync operation happened and poof! The new trophies disappeared.

Mercenaries just continues to get better and better, IMO. I know this is far from confirmation, but the prospects of DLC like this gets me so geeked out, my hands are shaking and I suddenly have to pee.

      I can't freakin' wait.

Okay, so one of the Japanese players on my list didn't sync his list yet and here they are:

        - Army of One - Win 30 matches in Slayers.
        - Eye of the Tiger- Win 30 matches in Survivors.
        - The Team that slays together - Win 30 matches in Team Slayers.
        - We Will Survive - Win 30 matces in Team Survivors.
        - Keep the good times rolling - Chain a 20-defeated combo in Slayers.
        - It takes two to tango - Chain a 40-defeated combo in Team Slayers.
        - It's all about the points - Score at least 40,000 points in Survivors.
        - There is no "I" in team - Score at least 80,000 points in Team Survivors.
        - Let's get this party started! - Unlock all selectable characters in Versus.
        - Bring the Pain - Defeat 100 players using physical attacks in Versus.

This certainly doesn't sound like a variation of Mercenaries.

            Agreed, awesome titles.

So... I'm guessing Slayers is you against other people? No idea bout Survivors, the fanboy in me is screaming "ZOMBIES! SURVIVE AGAINST THE ZOMBIES!" but that'd just be Mercs.

ETA: Just saw Versus XD I can see many Youtube videos in the future containing Deathmatches between specific characters. Bring it on

            - Let's get this party started! - Unlock all selectable characters in Versus.
Wonder if this means more characters than in Mercs?

Poster on GameFAQs has pretty much proved this. He has the guide and it has the modes listed.

Slayer: Similar to Mercenaries, except players compete to (essentially) get the higher score.
Survivors: Player vs Player action. Each player starts only with a Pistol, weapons are littered all over the arena. Major points are awarded for hitting other players, but points are still awarded for killing enemies.
Team Versus: It's possible to play both Slayer and Survivor in teams. Called "Duo" play, essentially it's the same, but 2 vs 2, instead of one on one.

                    He's posted more information:

Slayer: Plays very similar to Mercenaries, but with players competing against each other to get the highest score from kill infected souls and B.O.Ws. A handicap system helps the player with the lowest points by doubling the amount of points they are awarded (though this doesn't apply to combo bonuses). Time Bonus and Combo Bonus rules apply as before, with enemy types and item locations remaining the same (as in Mercenaries).

If any player dies during a game, they lose points and will reappear elsewhere on the map to carry on playing (note: you may sometimes spawn in the heat of a battle, or next to a boss). There is no limit to the amount of times you can die, though you shouldn't expect much of a score if you do too often. Most players will encounter enemies on difficulty grade level 6 (Normal/Veteran), but the leading player must battle enemies on Grade level 10 (Pro level).

There is a lot more, but it's involving statistics, and bonuses. Essentially, a Versus Mercenary mode.

                    Survivors:

This game variant is all about Player VS Player action. There are still aggressive creatures present, making the arenas more challenging, but their frequency has been reduced. Combos no longer play a role, as the points you score are directly received from dealing damage to other players. There are no points for killing monsters. You must also strive from taking any damage from the monsters yourself.

Each player starts with just a basic firearm, with powerful weapons littered about the arena. Every map has different combinations of weapons, and you may wish to acquire weapons from bosses by killing them.

Rest is statistics. Essentially a versus Mercenary mode, but with points coming from directly harming other players themselves.

There are team versions of these modes, pitting 2V2 action. So, obvious what they are.

Survivors sounds like the better mode, imo.

Awesome. Having a lot of fun in Mercs Mode and just seeing this now is great.

I'm actually really disappointed reading this stuff.
I'm not really into online gaming and all these things are geared towards multi-player online...

I want extra story modes/missions and extra Mercs characters and maps.
Damn it Capcom, give it to me!!!

The only way I'll buy this is if they add some really cool characters. The gameplay modes look okay, but nothing I'd spend $4 on. However, if it gives my a chance to play as Leon or Hunk in the RE5 atmosphere then they've earned my money.

That said, the two things I want most as far as DLC are more guns and a skin that makes Sheva look like BSAA Jill. I'd love to have BSAA Jill and Chris working their way through the game, even if Jill would sound like Sheva during dialogue.
