Nicholai? He's more or less the only antagonist still alive, if he is still alive.
    See you in hell.

i seriously hope capcom don't try to drag on by introducing a new wesker like opponent. i liked it better when the big faceless organization was the enemy.

wasn't it confirmed by one of those japanese books that he did indeed died in Racoon city, and that the english language file in survivor that dated an entry from him after that incident was a mistranslation ?

It wasn't a mistranslation. One half is written by Nicholai on Raccoon City, with the other half about the Umbrella B.O.W.s being written by a research team.

That's just an error, not a mistranslation. But yeah the first two parts are written by Nicholai, with the very last part being written by a research team.

Regardless, it neither confirms whether he lived or died anyhow. Unless there evidence elsewhere to suggest it, which I'm not aware of?

It's mostly left up to the player's own devices. We're not going to see him again anyway.

I just wrote my thoughts on this in the "Umbrella really were a bunch of loonies" thread, so I'll keep this short:

Everything regarding Wesker in RE5 was done perfectly. Not everything in RE5's story was great-super-awesome, but Wesker's story arc was. Everyone's already said enough on the subject.

I hated how Wesker would pull out his gun and shoot Chris within a second of the second fight starting.

I think they did a good job of tieing up the lose ends in the story. What I really liked was the cut scenes were not long like MGS and additional information was available in the files. I think the Wesker children was okay and it cleared up everything no matter how off the wall it was. There are a few question left like who was Wesker working with in CV and how did they get the Las plagas sample?

In CV Wesker was working with the Agency along with Ada. As for the las plagas sample I don't know, black market perhaps.

Wesker will be missed by a lot of fans, he was an amazing villain.

His entire motivation in RE3 was money though, IIRC.
It'll seem kinda arbitrary if they bring him back as main villain and start infecting places for no reason, IMO.

I don't know if Nicholai wanted money but he stayed loyal to Spencer.

Kay, I found the RE3 game script I tried making a while back...
(It's about 90% done, then I figured GameFAQs wouldn't need a 7 year old (at the time) game script =/)...

If you pushed Nemesis off the bridge or you negotiate with Nicholai when he's in the chopper. He'll mention that he killed the other UBCS supervisor to get more bargaining power with Umbrella, since he'll be the only one who knows what happened in the city. Jill asks why he's trying to kill her and he'll say that there's a reward for killing Jill.

                                So yeah...
