Here are some of the fastest ways to farm the golds and points if you're not using the rotten eggs glitch:
1. 18000 golds + Rocket Launcher, about 10 minutes
Chapter 3-1
The first method is done in chap 3-1 (marshland). The marshland is filled with gems (which add up to about 18k) and there will be no enemies as long as you don't pick up the key items. Also, you can pick up an one-time use Rocket Launcher. Here's a video showing the locations. This method is recommended if you haven't clear the game yet
2. 12500 gold, around 2 minutes
Chapter 5-2
The 2nd method is slightly more dangerous, but faster. For this mode, it is recommended to have at least one infinite ammo magnum. For the best result, have both Chris and Sheva equip with one infinite ammo magnum each, and set the difficulty to amateur. Set to 'auto-save'.
Make your way past the warzone involving those majinis, and get to the corridor where you see those lickers. From here, exterminate all the lickers using the magnums and take the "Lion Heart" gem which they drop (there will be 5 gems in total, selling for 12500 gold). Once you pick up the last gem, quit the game. Now choose "continue" and you'll have the same accessories again. Go ahead and kill the lickers and take the gems again, which shouldn't take more than 3 minutes. Repeat steps. Should you sustain any damage, there's always a green herb at the start of the corridor.
As for the points, there's really no way around it. You have to clear the chapter/mercenaries session to get the points. The fastest way to get the points will be to play through the Mercenaries mode, where the highest amount of points you can get is 5000.
If you are not good in The Mercenaries game, you can try out the main game too. Chapter 6-2 is probably the fastest and easiest way to get the S rank in theory. The first part consist of the QTE, followed by a short journey in the ship, which ends with the boss fight. The boss fight spawn small leeches group on the boat. To get a S rank in the numbers of enemies routed, you have to kill them too. I've no idea how many of them needs to be exterminated to get S rank in the "enemies routed" though, but I was told that in professional mode, you just need to kill 10 of them (excluding the majini in the ship). Alternatively, chap 1-1, 1-2 and 2-3 are recommended too.
