The Majini ALWAYS disappear on Rosey and I. At a certain point, they just stop coming, and we're forced to seek them out. It pisses me off so much. We'll have a great score, some really nice combos, and then they'll just stop coming altogether. And like she said, last night, we had 1:30+ left and we killed the 150th Majini, and the game stopped.
Now I'm all upset.
*Note* I spent nearly almost 2 hours typing out a detailed strategy, but the damn page logged me out, and I lost it all! I'll have to revisit this at a later date, but for now. . .
In the hopes of some fierce competition, here is the *for now* simple rundown of the strategy me and nemmy have found best and most efficent for Public Assembly.
1. First, collect all the time bonuses between the two of you depending on where you spawn. Converge together at the sewer area, each grabbing one of the time bonuses.
2. Start comboing the enemies there, do not leave the first square. Have at least one player there at all times, while the second manuver between the square and the little pathway where the first time bonus is.
3. When 23 combo is reached, or past 20 kills, have supporting player grab the first combo bonus chest, drop down, and take out the chicken down in the sewer as your partner continues the combo/drops the first executioner. Supporting partner try to get back up as soon as possible to help keep combo going.
4. Once executioner is killed, you and your partner move down to the other end of Public Assembly, keeping the combo going. A character with a sniper rifle helps kill the problem with the distance gap as far as keeping a combo going to the move.
5. Once 50 combo or 50 kills is acheived, and second executioner sited, have the player that will kill the executioner go grab the combo timer bonus on the first floor, while supporting player keeps combo going. Once the first player grabs combo timer bonus, that player kills executioner while supporting player keeps combo going.
6. j Once 70 combo or 70 kills is acheived, and third executioner is sighted, rinse and repeat step 6 more or less, this time grabbing the combo plus chest on the second floor of the main PA house.
7. Both partners stay within this area and combo enemies, but have one player go back to the sewer area and the first combo chest to trigger any remaining ememies. Crucial that other partner keep combo going as other player moves over. Once no more enemies seem to spawn in area, second player rejoin first player in main square, and both should kill until all enemies or time runs out.
Now, for a couple quick points
1. Melee, melee, and melee. Doing critical hit melee's on enemies earns 5 plus seconds on the timer clock each time one is done, so it is imperative for both partners to do this as much as possible, using there guns or grenades for kills as little as possible. Even if it seems to take longer, melee kills seem to inflate the time, which earns more points in the end.
2. Be aware of each other's situations, who can keep combo going when the need for reloading/healing arises. You have 10 seconds inbetween each kill to kill another enemy to keep combo alive.
3. The characters that me and nemmy use are Battlesuit Jill and STARS Wesker. Jill is me, acting as the supporting character. Her melee kills are great and easy to perform because of her scorpian, and her PSG1 is great for getting in distance or quick kills when the combo timer is in danger of ending. Even grenades help out in hetic spots.
STARS Wesker I call the main player, as he has the power weapons, the Magnum for taking out boss characters, and the Hyrda for great crowd control.
4. The reason you start out at the sewers, and move out to the main PA house, is because its the most economical route to get all combo bonus chest(and the chicken), while providing a steady stream of enemies, eliminating most, if not all *dry spells* that ruin good going combos. PA is divided into two basic spawning region for enemies, with only 12 enemies that can spawn per region for a total of 24. MAKE sure one character toward the end goes back to teh sewer/first combo time bonus area to make sure no more enemies will spawn over there, as you want to reach that 150 kill count as fast as possible.
5. Working as a team really is apart of the strategy(its calle duo for a reason). Don't try to split up into the sepereate ends of the map to try to keep spawning enemies--this usally only tugs the spawning of the enemies in one way or the other. This usually ends up with one character experiencing a dry spell, while the other being gangbaged horribly overtaken. Until near the end, its best to stick somewhat close together until you have to worry about taking out any lingering spawn majini.
Ok, sorry if it seems breif, or something you might question. As I said, I lost what I slaved over writing originaly, but anyways. . .
I think I will come back to this again and *try* to write out a more detailed explanation of why this works, but trust me, if you follow this strategy, you'll be getting a gangbusters score. Feel free to ask me a question, or if you want, I can show you in teh actual game .
Soon I think me and nemmy will tackle the mines finally, and try to figure that out.
EDIT** What has posted above is somewhat flawed now that I discovered a fourth combo bonus chest inside the bus. I'll do a proper explanation later, but for now, just do everything the same, except when you first converge in the sewer area, let the supporting character grab the time bonus and and both of you rack as many kills as you can, while the supporting character foremost still kills the chicken. Because of the extra chest, you can both basically have near a 20 combo right off the bat and go ahead and proceed to the main house of PA, and just use the three chest located in that area for each proceeding executioner. Just remember to still have the supporting partner to scope out back to teh sewer/first combo bonus chest location to rid of any unspawned enemies.
So people, get to it! lolLast edited by valentinesdead?; 03-20-2009, 06:16 PM.sigpic

What's a reliable strategy for soloing the Experimental Facility, I am fine until the swarms of lickers start appearing from every direction and start to overwhelm me, I also had no idea they had the claw grab attack until I decided to boost my scores on that level. I can get As on it but not consistently.

Overall, just keep an eye out for those darn stun rods, just keep running and gunning sweep up time bonuses ASAP and I say hold back on the combo bonus until the lickers. R. Launcher guys are easy to avoid...Last edited by Daargoth; 03-21-2009, 07:47 PM.

I always do really well in a team, but I suck solo.
I just always get surrounded and the bosses become impossible when you are alone.
I haven't unlocked all the characters yet, but I like to use BSAA chris, Midnight Wesker, BSAA Jill, and Clubb'n Sheva.

Honestly, I dont think we will be getting any DLC characters that aren't in RE5. There's a good probibility we might get some BSAA's or new costumes, but I highly doubt we're gonna get anyone like Barry or Ada.
Lets use Ada for example, first they would obviously have to create a new character model. Then, unless they get lazy and decide to use Ada's animations from RE4, they'd need to get a mocap. Then they would have to get a VA, and it could be a new VA unless they can get Sally. Then, they would have to bring back ALL the other VA's since each time a character dies in Mercs the other character screams out their name. So each VA would have to come in just to yell out "Ada!".
Now do you really think Capcom is gonna do all that for a DLC charcter? I'm not getting my hopes up.
