I was rewatching this 07 E3 trailer and compared it to the final game. Its amusing to see the changes they made over the development course

    - In this trailer, you can see Chris arriving at Kijuju alone.
    - Chris's arm looks more 'leaner' and normal.
    - He's alone when he encounter the first majini
    - the trailer have easily double the amount of majini compared to the final game (check out 2:02 mark)
    - The agitator's voice (the sunglasses guy with the mic) sounds different
    - the majini throwing a grapple hook (2:11) to topple the structure which Chris is standing on

the majini arm locking and tackling chris was so awesome

also in one of the earlier trailers it showed chris dodging quick majini machete strikes by ducking down quickly ..

little gameplay quirks like this would have been so awesome ..

Damnit That looks soooooooo much better than the game we got.

First off, there seems to be a whole lot more Majini on-screen in that version. They seem way more aggressive than the final version, using more varied and frightening ways to take Chris down. There also seems to be a whole lot more black Majini too. It would have been more realistic if we got that version.

Yeah, there is a vibe about this trailer that was missing in the final game. I'm not bashing the game or anything because i really did love it, but this trailer instilled me with a lot of hype back in the day. RE5 ended up having a great atmosphere but the first half of this trailer is really vivid and captures my imagination more than anything in the final game ended up doing. That's always the way, though - Early trailers allow you to speculate and put ideas in your head about what the game should/shouldn't be like. I trust that Capcom removed those little gameplay quirks for good reasons. They are the professionals, not me.

The final thing felt a bit like too much of a production, if that makes any sense... This looks really raw in comparison.

I think that this vibe got ruined when they announced that Chris won't be alone in the game. And I'm not talking just about Sheva but for the whole BSAA team including the helicopter support. However the final product didn't dissapoint me in any level so I'm good.

I think most of you fail to realize that they toned down the amount of Majini for a reason. The game would be nigh-on impossible if you fought utter hordes like that.

That would be the fun of it if you ask me. Fighting such a huge agressive horde would give you more of an incentive to run and barricade yourself somewhere. I always assumed these sections would involve escaping/surviving Assembly Place style rather than going head on with the horde.

but how many times could they possibly pull off 'escape' scenario's like that .. they'd have to revert back to the few enemies for the rest of the game anyway ..

capcom should really do a non resident evil or a spin-off with full action controls, and massive horde's to see how it does .

You mean Dead Rising? Not too badly.

I think scenes with truly vast hordes could have a place in one of these games. I mean, I know bar two areas my partner and I simply killed everything and moved on. Scenes where we simply have to start falling back would have been great. But they'd need to be special scenes and areas, not something permanent...rather like the first fight is not an entirely accurate represenation of the game as a whole.

The guide mentions that this was a test level that was created for tuning various things. They tuned the grabbing so that it was just the parasite coming out of the head. Pretty interesting stuff.

I noticed that a more recent trailer showed Chris using the snipper, looking down from a hight at that bridge, from the right side.
In the game, you walk across the same bridge together and I think the only place you can look at it from a hight is on the left side, if you stand on one of the shipping containers (this is from memory, I haven't watched the trailer again to confirm).

Also in another trailer, there is 'Tube Girl' opening her eyes, which I don't think ever happens in the game.

a lot of the scenes and many of the lines in the trailers never happened in the game.

                          Spoiler:

i can't remember but was Chris's line "my last parter was a woman too" in the final game?

now that you mentioned it...yah I don't seen to recall him delivery that line in the final game too

I just picked up the guide a moment ago and saw the "behind the scenes" section. It also mentioned the ducking move which AJ mentioned. Its a waste they removed the chair weapon though, but I guess a chair isn't intimidating as a weapon so they removed it.

The guide also said that Chris's arm was slimmed down considerably in the final game. Its crazy, lol. His arm still look very big in the final game. Chris's arm in that screen looks gigantic.

There were a lot of things that were in the trailers (not just the first trailer) that were removed from the final product. Chris' monologue from the second trailer ("I knew it from the moment I arrived...") is nowhere to be found, and no one ever says, "Kijuju is our home! Invaders will be punished! Our paradise shall become their death and our salvation!" There were a few minor scenes that were evidently cut here and there as well that you can see if you pay attention during the trailers.
