Me and my friends were actually going to wait to use the rotten egg on Wesker to see if it was somehow an easter egg (no pun intended) of some kind... but my idiot friend sold the damn thing right before the fight... I was mad... lol

Yea those rotten eggs aren't easy to come by. I made the mistake of eating one on my first play through...ouch. I haven't used one as a weapon yet because I'm still trying to collect all of the types of eggs (you get a trophy for that too), but it would be hilarious throwing it at wesker, period

Back to the eggs anyway...

I am kind of curious about them. Is it random if a chicken lays a white, brown, gold or rotten egg?

Or does the chicken initially lay a white one that over time turns brown, then gold, then rotten. Seems like early in a game of mercenaries I always find white eggs but if I wait a while they are either gold or rotten. My theory is you have to wait to make the item better, but if you wait too long it becomes useless.

Has anyone else wondered about this?
