Funny how similar the T-1000's defeat from T2 was with Wesker's death.

JT: Actually, we decided to leave the ending open. In the original storyboard [Wesker] was supposed to dodge the rockets, and the shock of the blast was supposed to send his body out of the lava, but it looked too obvious that he survived.
JS: [Laughs] It would've been a cool scene, but it wouldn't really give the player the closure the ending needed. We wanted a more subtle approuch.
JT: In the final version, the player is not quite sure wether the rockets hit Wesker, or if he avoided them. This was our intention, since his body being propelled offscreen is only suggested, not shown. We thought this was the better ending, since the player could now focus on the closing scene without wondering about Wesker.
JS: Coming from someone with a live action background, I have to add that if anyone is buying this, you deserve a steakknife in your rectal cavity. Right Jun?
JT: Fuck yourself, Jim. Fucking gaijin.
      Oh shit. I knew it.

Funny how in RE4 Leon gets an El Gigante to fall into a lava pit, and uses liquid nitrogen to freeze Verdugo. Where have I seen those before?

Also, Leon is seemingly as indestructible as a T-800.
