Chris is one of my favorite video game characters of all-time(right up there with Revolver Ocelot, Albert Wesker, Solid Snake and Auron from FFX). I have every intention of naming my first-born son Christopher Redfield (insert my last name here). First name Christopher, middle name Redfield, tits everywhere. Oh, and he'll always be seen wearing the color green. Yes. That's right.

I've always thought that Chris was as boring as bat shit. I don't like or dislike him, he's just there.
He is more interesting in RE5 than he was in RE1, REmake, CV and UC. Ironically, his best lines are more the type of thing that Leon would say.
When I'm playing as Sheva with Chris as AI, I find him annoying (as I said in another thread). One thing I noticed is that if you put the stun rod in the inventory of either AI character, they will equip it and use it and not anything else. It can be a handy little trick to keep them out of the way.
Another hate is when I'm shuffling my inventory between the characters to make a free space, to pick something up. As soon as I make the space he hands me something and fills it!
"Take this!" (dude! I'm trying to make a free space you dumb ass!!!)
Also I'm damn sick of hearing his, "Roger!" comment.
"Roger, Roger, Roger..." he's like a broken record.

Superb post Jill's Boob, you've summed up just about every reason why Chris is my favourite character in any kind of entertainment or literiture, ever.http://www.projectumbrella.net The BIOHAZARD/RESIDENT EVIL Compendium

Chris is my favourite male lead of the RE series (not that there's much choice, you can only really count Leon as the other, but *shock horror* I actually prefer Steve to Leon.)
I have felt that he's only really developed as a character starting with Code: Veronica, but then C:V was the first Resident Evil to really have a storyline that played with the characters emotions (Steve <3 Claire, Steves breakdown, Chris vs Wesker, Claires upset over Steves death, the whole Alexia/Alfred relationship). There's a reason why C:V is one of my favourite games, and it's mainly down to story. It's a shame that, in my opinion, Resident Evil 4 didn't follow up on that. I really would've liked a scene where Ashley broke down but then strapped on a pair rather than joining the rest of the mannequinns in the game.
I think that's also why I love 5. It's backstory is layed out in the files and the emotional pull of the story, for the characters and the fans.
C:V was the first step to a Chris made of awesome for me, with 5 following it up.Last edited by BadWolfX; 03-22-2009, 07:32 AM.

Chris is my favourite character mainly because my first RE game was RE 1 and I remember that I always wanted to pick him because he was the male lead although I knew that his scenario was more difficult. It took me 8 months to finish the game so Chris became a very important character to me.sigpic

I think Chris is a great character. Sometimes I feel him like he's too damn good, the typical boy scout that has to do the right thing. However, that fits perfectly in his "ying/yang" relationship with Wesker, if you put them on contrast they are complete opposites:
Chris cares about people close to him and will do anything in his hands to ensure they stay safe (take Jill or Claire for example); Wesker is all about himself (Excella? STARS? Krauser? Ada? Just tools for him).
I understand the "buffing" for RE5 (the whole "trying to match Wesker" thing), but what I don't get is why designers make him look extremely different from game to game (except for REmake and RE: Umbrella Chronicles which I guess they used the same model for his face).
I see many people don't like Leon. In RE2 he was naive, on RE4 arrogant and cocky and on Degeneration he was a robot (if i'm not wrong Degeneration is canon). I think this personality arc fits "well" considering the facts:
- RE2: ROOKIE cop.
- RE4: TRAINED agent on first mission (Kind of reminds me of Casino Royale's James Bond).
- RE Degeneration: Bioterrorism VETERAN. Goverment kill machine.
That's just my humble opinion.
