Or, since those were early movies, the new areas simply hadn't been completed yet.

I think at least some stuff got scraped. Now, whether it was because it didn't work well or because it could be used for something later or because they got rushed...well, that we'll never know.

I think we can all agree that RE5 had great pacing, and no doubt that pacing was achieved by trimming certain parts that would have dragged if they were left in the final game. There's only so many linear skirmishes that one can play through before it starts to feel redundant...

It's the same general approach that is taken in the film industry - Directors can become attached to a scene or shot that they really like, but at the end of the day, if it isn't helping their story then they usually get rid of it. Pacing is one of the most important things in film and since RE5 (and games in general these days) has such a filmic quality then these rules must apply too.

I don't think pacing in videogames should be a reason to cut stuff out. Sure, movies are meant to be experienced from start to finish in one go, so pacing is important, but games are meant to be played in sessions a few hours at a time.

I was actually watching all the trailers the other day and did realise that some parts shown weren't used in the game. I think it was just early ideas that were changed plus they had to add Sheva with Chris.

Sometimes the big man upstairs will announce a date that isn't reasonable and they'll have to cut stuff to get it out on time. Or sometimes they wanna add it into something you buy at a later date. What with DLC being the big thing at the moment and a great way to stretch a game even futher. I'm pretty pissed off about Fallout 3, for example, where apparently the ending to the game? Not the ending. Not at all the fucking ending. Nooo, to get the actual ending you're gonna have to fork over more cash. And buy the 360 version since we aren't doing it on the PS3.

              Asses.
Fuck, Darkmoon, you've made me reinstall Fallout 3 on my PC. There's some rips of the DLC for PC on the internet which I'll get if I'm not able to buy it for some reason.
