when I went rocket-less and used the melee attacks to beat wesker in the second last boss fight. I adore button prompts and such. I just get so much satisfaction out of using them - 'specially against badasses like Wesker :3
I've been trying to think of my greatest achievement ever since this topic was posted, and I finally thought of it: Earning the Rocket Launcher in CODE: Veronica. Because the friggen guidelines for that are so ridiculous that I thought it was going to be impossible. No First Aid Sprays, no saves, no deaths. What was Capcom thinking?
I remember the first time I tried this, I ended up getting killed by a poisonous Hunter during Chris' part of the game, and I seriously just burst into tears for, like, two hours. It was so upsetting! I just wanted to crawl in a hole and die.
Regardless, I eventually achieved it, and it made me one happy camper.
My biggest achievement has still got to be the time I was sleeping over a friends house. We had also rented RE:Survivor and played through it, screaming like the little girls we were when we first spotted Mr. X in that alley coming toward you.
But no it wasn't that game. That night I had also on a whim, played Wesker in the the Code Veronica extra Battle game - the knife only one. AND BY GOD, I BEAT THE THING. BY MYSELF. No cheating or anything. It was hard as hell, but I made it through and won, and I felt so damned proud of myself for it. I still totally do.
I never really had any trouble with the Wesker knife only battle game. I think I done it first time. IIRC Wesker's knife swings are more powerful than the other characters. Plus you get a magnum most of the time to finish the boss.
Getting all the way to the end of RE Gaiden is the thing I'm most proud of, I think... it separates the men from the child...
Yes, I did finish it and I'm f'n proud of doing so... the game was terrible.
- Beating RE4 on Professional
- Beating RE5 on Professional
- Finish Code: Veronica (it's f'n hard!)
- Finish RE 0 from start to finish the day I bought it.
- Beat the "Tofu" minigame (hardest thing ever for me...)
- Unlocking the shit out of RE: DS and finish it in 1:10.
- Get all the gamecube games: it was a pain in the ass, here are expensive as hell as well as hard to find (RE2 and RE:CV are sooooooooooooooo rare).

CVX is "rare" on the GameCube? I know from personal experience that RE2 and RE3 are scarce (God, I paid SO MUCH for mine), but has CVX really become hard to find? Good thing I bought mine right when it came out.
My proudest moment would be getting an A ranking with everybody in mercenaries mode on RE4 and getting the handcannon.
Not much, but i was proud of myself.

Well I live in Mexico, look this for example (it's translated from spanish with google but It helps you to get the idea...) MercadoLibre is actually a partner from Ebay here; if you search in that site you'll only find like 5 o 6 for sale in the whole country.
- Price $899 pesos, almost $80 bucks... for a used game.
With a bad economy like ours, that's just insane.
I got mine a few years ago for $250 pesos, when the exchange rate was $12 pesos for $1 us dollar, so I think that was a hell of a bargain. Also got RE2 and RE3 as as gifts from friends .

I can't remember now what it was, but I do remember being very proud of my best time on RE2 - I know it was damned fast, because it stuck in my mind that I couldn't believe I'd managed it so quick.

How much exactly did you pay for them? There's been a copy of both RE2 & 3 at a gamestop up the street for sometime now( I think they're about 25 bucks each), but I've neglected to get them until I have some extra cash to throw around. However, if their as scarce as you say, I guess I'll have to pick them up soon

$40 for each! BAWWWW. I bought them back in 2004, I believe, and I went to at least fifteen different stores to locate them both. RE2/RE3 seem to be widely available online, but in the stores, not so much. In many ways, I know I got gypped and I should have never paid that much for them, but I was desperate. $25 sounds like a suitable price, as that's about the same price they go for on eBay. I'd say go for them. :3
I'm honestly shocked about CVX though. I'm really glad I bought mine when it was originally released. For some reason, I'm most attached to the GC ports.
Yea, now that I think about it I've only seen CVX on gamecube in person like once, and that was a few months after it came out.
