        Sorry, P30.

        Still stands, though.

Even so, the virus Wesker used in 1998 is not PG67A/W. A serum =/= virus. The aformentioned virus doesn't even have a name. It was just an early Progenitor variant.

I think in the files they called it a prototype virus. In UC Wesker was worried about the viruses and how they would eventually mutate the person or thing. Naturally Wesker was worried about what would happen to him and I sure that is why he takes the serum to keep the virus in check.

Not to veer off topic here, but does everyone still agree that Krauser's mutation was caused by a virus recieved from Wesker?

No. I never agreed with that. They look too much like Plagas mutations. And you'd think they'd mention a little thing like, 'Oh, by the way Krauser has been infected by Wesker with a super virus.'

The main reasoning I can remember behind him not having a Plagas was mostly two fold....first of all, Ada knew about his arm. Which, given he was working for Wesker and likely reported any alterations to his body isn't really shocking. And secondly, that Saddler wouldn't give him the power of one of the parasites designed to take over someone's mind and make them his slave. I think you can see where I'm going with that. If Saddler decided to infect his most trusted men, Mendez and Salazar, with a Plagas why exactly would he not place a mind control parasite in the guy he doesn't trust?

Now, the main issue is how does Krauser retain his loyalty to Wesker if he does have a Plagas? Well, there are two options...one, Capcom screwed up again. Or secondly, since simply controlling someone's mind doesn't give you access to his knowledge Saddler didn't know who Krasuer worked for. Without any obvious indication of betrayal there would be no need to enforce his will on someone else and therefore Krauser was free to keep slipping information to Wesker.

I think it's a lot more likely Krauser had a plagas parasite than a never mentioned virus that no one talked about and has never been brought up since, especially since his mutations look very much like plagas mutations.

+1 on Krauser having Las Plagas.

But about the confusion, wouldn't it be solved if what Krauser had was a master Plagas sample? As far as I know, Saddler, Mendez and Salazar all had master plagas samples, and they all seemed to regain some free will and had some control over the Ganados, and some extra abilities when mutating. Krauser's mutation doesn't really seem like a normal Plagas ability, but something the master Plagas would do.

                  EDIT:

Corrin, as far as I know all you're doing is expressing an opinion of how things took place, and I'm trying to point out holes in it. This is a discussion board, afterall, so no need to be on the defensive all the time just because you're personally convinced. Or am I missing something?

I did consider that, and I agree it's definitely not a normal plagas. But a master? I'm not sure how much control Saddler had over over master plagas. If it was limited I'm not sure he'd trust Krauser with one.

Well he didn't trust him as he said and was planning on killing him all along, and I doubt he was directly controlled by Saddler if he was capable of actively double crossing him. But I could definately see him needing Krauser sort of independant and sane to pull off kidnapping the President's daughter, and if Krauser had Ganado minions he had some influence over with him then that would help too, so I think a master makes sense. Afterall, as far as we know they only had 2 versions, normal and master.

Krauser had a control Plaga, certainly.

                          Krauser: Witness the POWER!

                          Leon: Of the Plaga?

Krauser: Oh no no, the virus that's been cultivating in my body for years. I apologize for not mentioning this piece of information earlier with you, old friend. But enough talk, have at you!

But why would Saddler give someone he didn't trust a control Plaga? It was likely a risk he was willing to take. He needed to pretend he had his trust to fool the people he was working for.

I think people are just under the impression that the control Plaga is alot more empowering than it actually is. Hell, Wesker/Excella/Jill had no problem giving Irving a version of the control Plaga for the sole purpose of stopping Chris and Sheva, and he wasn't particularly happy about it.

Besides, noone else had Saddler's sound emitting walking stick, which gave him an edge I'd imagine, even though that thing still confuses me.

Yea, he's arm reminds me of irving's transformation. I wonder if krauser's arm is what persuaded the creators to make wesker's final form with a "sharp" arm lol. Anyways, I wish they would have went into deeper detail regarding plagas as a whole. I mean, originally it didn't bother me that there wasn't much history behind plagas. However, now that the plagas virus has effected a big part of the resident evil storyline, I'd like to know more about it's origins. Perhaps they'll make a future title where you play as salazar's ancestors and you have to seal away the evil plagas, which will play a bit like castlevania

No exposition on Las Plagas please. RE5 made them finally relevant, that's all they need to be. Screw their history.
