Who is Director Bailey? *Spoilers?*

I'm use to gamefaqs so I don't know if I should put a spoilers tag or not, anyways...

In 6-2, right before Uroboros, There is a file in a suitcase and it's Spencers "journal", and in this journal he mentions a director of the Umbrella facility in Africa. His name was Bailey, Director Bailey.

Who is he? What did he do? Is he dead? Why was he never mentioned before? Why add another figure to Umbrella?

Dr. Brandon Bailey was the protege of James Marcus, left to spearhead the research into the "Stairway to the Sun" flower in Africa.

And he is deceased, according to the document found on the bridge of the ship, IIRC. His addition is merely to flesh out some of the staff for the Umbrella Research facility in Africa. You also find a document of his prior to the entrance to the Lab, after you walk away from the underground garden. It is to the right of the door.

I think the addition of Dr. Bailey is a fine one, as his research (and relationship to Dr. Marcus) is interesting.

Can anyone else elaborate further, so there're more people interacting here than a couple of boobs?
