i really don't get why RE5 Wesker is so cool, i HATED Wesker in RE5 so much. he was almost worse than Chris in RE1 or Leon in Degeneration. and this is sad for me to say cause i loved all his previous roles. and RE5 just ruined him completely.

he was just a super powered mutant thing that didn't have any trace of humanity and who's only goal was.... world domination, how boring and overused.

he was totaly uncool in RE5 as well. shame such good voice acting was wasted on such a bad character.

my favorite Wesker appearance would have been RE1. then Remake. i loved his VA in RE1 so much, it was his best VA IMO. and in Remake he was terrific, a calm and cool evil but still human, Captain Albert Wesker. he was pretty cool in RE0 for the few scenes he was in.

he was in RE4 for like 10 seconds and i can't even remember it really. his CVX appearance was ok, but not his best. he was starting to get super powerful which i didn't like.

    haven't played UC yet.

also Chris was never the main character of the series either.
      Think again.

world domination, how boring and overused.
How about pay attention to the plot? Because that's the opposite of what he wanted entirely.

so what your saying is Chris is the main character and no one else matters? even though he isn't in RE0, RE2, RE3 and RE4 and both Outbreaks.

Chris and Wesker's rivalry started out as a small subplot and should have ended as a small subplot. it should never have gotten to the size it is now.

also Wesker's main goal in RE5 was to take over the world with his Uroborus viras and either kill everyone or turn them into his chosen people or something. basically another form of world domination. it was the most boring part of the game for me. and like with raiden in MGS4 i was hopeing he would die before capcom got a chance to ruin him even more.

Practically every single event in the series can be linked to Wesker and Chris. They are the two main characters of the series. Maybe you just need to wake up from your Jill induced trance and understand that. He didn't say no one else mattered, he just said you need to think again about what you said. Even your precious Jill's role is to move along Chris's story and her diary proves it. Practically the entire thing is about what Chris is doing.

Why do I always feel the need to deal with such ignorance.

He didn't want to take over the world. Period. He wanted to induce evolution.

His character was done justice and reverted back to his selt in Code: Veronica, ditching the "omfg grand schemer in a chair lololol" in RE4 and UC.

Him not being human anymore is part of his character development, he isn't human anymore. He has no semblence of humanity anymore following his meeting with Spencer and learning of his origins. Numerous reasons for this.

I voted Chris, because in my opinion he was the best character in RE5. Pretty simple.

I didn't vote Jill because like other people have said, she was hardly in the game and I didn't like her new seemingly plot device-only status as it didn't make sense with her rather important role at the end of Umbrella Chronicles, and I also didn't vote Wesker because I personally feel like his character in this particular game was bastardized, as I always imagined Wesker having planned to revive and create his own Umbrella, not go cartoon-villain crazy and try to induce "evolution" by dropping some virus onto the world. But then that's just me, I guess. As a whole I think that this is a flaw with RE5 becoming too hollywood like; I can't really blame the characters but their motivations suck and are not very consistant with the previous games, imo.

Oh and yeah, Chris has always been the main character of the series. That doesn't mean no other main character matters! Reasons for this being that in the main series:
In RE1, Chris's scenario makes the most sense with the latter games.
In RE2, Claire is looking for Chris.
In RE3, Jill is looking for Chris.
In Code Veronica, Claire gets captured, and then Chris takes over the game.
In RE4, Wesker reappears setting up for...
RE5. Chris's return. Chris is the main character, but that doesn't mean his story arc is the only one that is important. There's still many story arcs to be resolved. ; P

yes Jill is there to move Chris's story along, but Chris is also there to move Jill's story along, you say Jill's dairy proves it's all about Chris because Jill was so worried about Chris. yet you forget that all Chris cared for in RE5 was Jill's wherabouts and if she was ok. and Jill's file was a single file, RE5 is an entire game.

and also you cannot develop a character by themselves anyway, i mean try writing a book with only one character. you need tohave multiple characters so you can develop them all. all Jill's fale proves is that she's very loving and caring and is worried about Chris which is what i love about her character so much.

it was basically the same thing, he wanted to induce his evolution so he could have his superior world. and he wanted to rule it like a God, so yes he did want to take over the world.

now how many power hungry villains are there that want nothing but to take over the world in one form or another?

he's like something out of a comic book.

                  Wrong.

yet you forget that all Chris cared for in RE5 was Jill's wherabouts and if she was ok.
No shit, we've been acknowleding that for a while now. That's because she's a plot device who's sole purpose is to give Chris reasoning behind his mission, and to push him towards his objective. This is especially clear in the very scene where he saves her, and she pushes him onwards onto his true goal.

and also you cannot develop a character by themselves anyway
The process of character development is not that character's relations to other people, even though that's a factor. It's their personality, will, characteristics and actions that make up the big brunt of it. Their handling of situations plays a much larger role than relations.

and he wanted to rule it like a God, so yes he did want to take over the world.
                  Wesker said it best himself.

Chris: "And so you're going to be the king of this new world, right?"

Wesker: "Even kings bow to Gods, Chris."

He didn't want control. He merely wanted to be worshipped as a God of a new race. Being worshipped =/= taking over. Wesker wasn't immortal. He couldn't maintain control forever. That's why he wanted to be a God, not a King. He wanted to be omni-present, his existence being a major factor in the new race's existence. Essentially, he wanted to replace each and every religious God, whether it be the Yahweh or Allah, as a single entity. There is no power greater than that. Power without even being there.

I don't see why you're complaining about Wesker's goals anyway, what the fuck else is he supposed to do? There are only a few set objectives a maniac has on their mind. He's no more cliché than Jill, who might as well be a plank of wood in terms of character. Your personal obsession doesn't change anything.

i don't see how she's such a plot device and yet Chris isn't.

yes, but try and develop someones personality, will and characteristics with no characters to interact with. you need multiple characters. and they used Chris to develop that Jill was a loving and caring woman.

it's the chemistry between two characters that can really develop them both.

all the RE characters are cliches, some are interesting ones, others are boring ones.

Right, because it's possible to revive a company who's business practices have proven to be extremely volatile. Wesker himself even remarked against it in Wesker's Report II. The whole "rawr resurrect Umbrella" bullshit came from Shinji Mikami's spectacular story writing ability.

resurecting Umbrella would have still been infinitelly more interesting than becoming a God. RE's story has alway been somewhat like a B grade film, resurecting Umbrella would have fit in with that and Wesker's character nicely.
