Well, apparently it's been in development for a while. Remember those rumours months ago of a remake of two? Yeah, looks like this was it. So I'm expecting it to be better than Umbrella Chronicles. But then I expect herpes might be more fun than the RE3 scenario.

Exactly. I think it will be better than UC because of the new controls. I'm really looking forward to the new robert kendo scene lol.

Another reason why it will never happen; Capcom do not want to fuel the desire for wanting the beta any more than it all ready is. RE fans in general go all rabid over "the beta" as it is.

I certainly think it would be very neat if she ended up making a cameo in a game someday, but I doubt it will ever happen. I'd certainly be surprised if it did.

Hilarious...Capcom has discarded characters like Sherry, Carlos, Billy, Rebecca, Barry, etc (most of them rightly so) and you are pondering the appearance of a character that was scrapped before ever officially showing up?

Carlos, Billy and Rebecca all appeared in the UC game. These Chronicles games are about reverting to the first Resident Evil games, so it would be a treat to include her. I know it's very unlikely she will, but given that her backstory was never really explained, they could make her fit in however they wish if they wanted to.

Anyway, it's wishful thinking, but it was good it sparked some debate

That's because they were in other games as well. They weren't ideas that got scrapped.
Elza = concept. Claire = final product. Elza isn't going to be in anything unless someone gets their hands on 1.5.
