i just wanted to say that i guess i am just a fan boy..the reason i wanted to see romero's version was the fact that it WAS actually like the game is that not what anybody wants when they are going to see a movie based on an IP??
but anyway i like the second movie the best only because it comes the closest to the game.

Extinction is the worst film I've seen in a long time. Even though the first two did not relate to the games at all and the characters were irrelevant and it was definitely NOT what I'd expect from a RE movie (not to mention Nemesis' sudden conscience and turning good, lol), they were entertaining and they had a lot of action. Extinction, on the other hand, is plain appalling. Boring. Not entertaining in the least. No plot. Not even a feel of "Resident Evil" at all, even the first two had a little feel of RE with Umbrella everywhere and the viruses. I remember watching it, bored to death, and at the end thinking "Is that it?", followed by saying what an absolute pile of turd it was.

The movie had too much action and not enough of resident evil.

The first RE I really don't care about. Saw it once, disliked it and didn't want anything more to do with it. Then I hear they're doing something of an adaptation of Nemesis, well, the pictures look...interesting. I see the film and it's fucking horrible. I barely ever get such a feeling distaste. I expected crap from the third one and so my expectations shielded any blows. Spoiler:

They even try to make her all brooding and uncaring but she really does care because she's just sad. Then they have some human people. Because we need people there to be in awe of Alice. Aeria Gloris, baby! One of them's supposed to be Claire but apart from the name you couldn't tell. Oh, and Carlos returns, earning him more movie time than anyone in the movie not alice! About twenty minutes on screen, I reckon.

But then, you see, the world is dead. The T-Virus got into plants and killed them all, turning the world into a desert and completely burying Vegas. How do the plants get infected? Maybe it's the water. No, then the survivors would die horribly. The air? No, then the survivors couldn't breath. Oh, I know! Zombie bows! They all the plants! Especially the trees.

And the survivors? They're infitiely stupid because, well, they're not Alice. Maybe being in her presence doesn't allow them to think of anything else but her, 'cos people whove survived with zombies for years can't recognize zomnbie infection in someone, and the infected guy still sits there, dying, hoping they won't. Because so many other people live through a zombie bite.

Oh, and I'm not even gonna spoil all the really funny bits. But all those reviews are totally wrong. It's pure comedy gold, man. Pure gold! You'll be laughing the whole way through the film. Or weeping and crying at what Resident Evil has become to many people. One or the other.
Well, that certainly is... tempting? Sure. I'll go with tempting.

I used to be mad at the RE films but now we have Degeneration (how an RE film should only be done!), I don't care anymore.

One of my favorite movie endings ever.

I do wish there had been more zombie kills though.

George's script would have run circles around anything Anderson came up with.

I read Romero's, and like it infinitely better than what we ended up with. Was it perfect? No. Was it head and shoulders above what we got? Damn straight.

Romero's script is a slighly iffy pre-production script that would have certainly been edited, so I had some hopes for it. I liked how he did some things like his explantion for how the Hunters are so damned nasty. But it was a zombie horror movie.

Anderson's script was, well, action. It lacks almost all horror elements beyond having zombies. Unfortunately that seems to be what Capcom was looking for, and as much as the games influenced the films (not nearly as much as I'd like) the films have influenced the games nearly as much. They made it obvious action and tits sold, and so Capcom gave that a shot.

See? I can even blame Anderson for RE4.

I think maybe if somebody could take out Paul Anderson, they have another director redo the whole thing.

i was one of the first 100 people in kansas to see extinction ( saw it before it came to theaters, it was a pre screening i think its wat its called)
and it was horrible. the most fun i had during the whole time i was there was seeing some guy come out of the theater in a HUNK costume. i talked to him and
he was as disapointed as i was.

i dont know why i was disapointed. i was probably more ashamed of myself than anything.

i was wondering what everyone means when they say mary sue? also i think the only person who has written anything that even does any of the games justice is S.D Perry
