I think that I wanted the girl in the red dress to be Sherry because it would have been another plothole that could be closed. Im really not disappointed that it was a different person but think it is a wasted opportunity. I always believed that the woman in the tube was Jill just by her facial features and didn't really think it mattered that the woman had blond hair. Sherry was a different story because she would have aged some much by now and it would be harder to tell. It is possible that like Jill, Sherry is in some tube and is being tested on but time will only tell.

Steve's dead and Wesker only needed his body for a T-Veronica sample (and from RE5 we know that Wesker managed to obtain the virus). That whole "maybe he'll come back alive, just as I did. And be able to see your sister again." was rather to piss Redfields off and not a real threat, because Wesker didn't have means to really achieve that.
Of course there's a probability that one day he may show up all happy and alive, just like Wesker, Ada, Jill, Marcus, but this is Resident Evil; if Capcom wants, they could even resurrect the entire Bravo Team using some kind of magic virus... >_>
I was really hoping that Sherry would be in RE5 but I've come to not get my hopes up for anything, hell the South america scenario will most likely be something their creating the story for as we speak lol."One can only match, move by move, the machinations of fate... and thus defy the tyrannous stars."

Ada will no doubt turn up in Darkside Chronicles, once more pissing me off with her unbridled arrogance and unwarranted sense of self-importance. She was actually likeable in RE2, but I utterly despised her in RE4. Such a flashy harlot, flaunting her body and being a general cockhive on her needless expedition through rural Spain.
Oh, and as for Allyson. It was her own stupid fault for leaving Adam, who I might add was alive and well last time I checked.See you in hell.

Yea I agree, Ada's constant flaunting was a bit too much, but I wouldn't be suprised if she showed up like you said, because where Leon goes, Ada follows...or perhaps it's the other way around"One can only match, move by move, the machinations of fate... and thus defy the tyrannous stars."

All of a sudden a game with Ada Wong in the lead does not sound like a bad idea at all

^ Well I wish they'd go ahead and get hitched already so we don't have to sit through another Resident Evil game packed with flirtation, one-liners, win/win lover fights, and those akward little silence momentsLast edited by REmaster; 04-16-2009, 04:56 AM."One can only match, move by move, the machinations of fate... and thus defy the tyrannous stars."

I mean really? Are you kidding me? She's meant to be a damn spy and she is using her real name?
I'd rather see what happened to Sherry.

Was "Ada Wong" her real name? Her RE3 epilogue file implies that it was a fake identity she used on her Raccoon City mission:
She used be called Ada Wong... But this morning she will say good-bye to the name. "I'm not Ada Wong anymore..." She feels her ab and thinks, "This is Ada's scar, not mine." And as she says good-bye to Ada Wong, she can't stop her tears. However, there isn't much time left before her next mission...

That said, she's used that name on a hell of a lot of fronts.
With John.
With Annette.
With Wesker. (He addressed Wesker's report II to her).
With Leon.
With Krauser. (Krauser never calls her Ada, but he doesn't react when he hears Leon call her Ada)
and possibly LuisWatch this. You can tell he doesn't know her very well. However in her report on Luis, Ada says "When I told him who I was...". Whether she lied, or said she was with the organization, isn't known).
Just to answer the original question (since I haven't yet posted in this thread), I think Allyson has very little significance. I actually think that if Capcom were observing what fans were speculating (very hard to know if they were or weren't), then they removed her from alot of the trailers. Alot of media came out where she wasn't shown, and for a while people (myself included) thought she may have been dropped. I remember after the RPD dispatch we recorded just after I'd been to the Japanese Degeneration screening, and seen the exclusive RE5 trailer, that what was most discussed on other internet fora was not degeneration, but the trailer that aired with it, and it seemed that most people were excited that there was confirmation that the woman in the red dress was still in the game.
That said, I guess at the time we all expected a large role for her. But compare what was in the game, and what was shown in trailers, and they really couldn't have shown much more then they did without giving away that she was infected with Las Plagas. I don't think she had a bigger role in the game then what we saw.sigpic

Hmm, the RE3 epilogue actually implies to me that Ada is her real name. Notice how she is saying "goodbye Ada", like she is saying goodbye to herself, to become this secret spy and can no longer be herself. Besides, I thought she'd be going by another alias if she went on another mission, but obviously not.

As much as it pains me to admit it, Bond is sometimes guilty of making the same mistake. Sure, he uses aliases to great effect but there's times when even the man himself openly states his real name, hence the phrase, "The name is Bond. James Bond". But that's like a name to be feared, when you hear that name then you know you're in deep trouble.See you in hell.

It seems so damn random that I wouldn't be suprised if she was supposed to be Sherry from the start, but that they didn't have time to add that storyline so they just changed her into throwaway Alyson. Hell, I'm sure Ashley was also Sherry before Mikami decided to make her the president's daughter.
When people hacked the RE5 demo, wasn't the name "Sherry" in the code? Or was that just a rumor someone started.
