  • I-ah....what the hell is this guy on about?! =/

So he thinks that UC isn't canon because it added an element from the movie (Red Queen), and that it was a filler game? But RE5 acknowledges it...and it's not like RQ was the most important element in the game anyway...

    Raccoon City's finest =(

    • The reason Umbrella Chronicles was made was to "fill" in the plotholes that existed in the series, such as the ability to mass-produce Tyrants and the Sheena Island explanation wasn't really good enough because it was too long winded and not cost-effective. Umbrella Chronicles explains the IN-GAME White and Red Queen, completely separate entities to the White and Red Queens of the movies. Just like the Nemesis, Jill, and Carlos of the movies are completely separate to the games, simply based on them.

As I've said before, Archives isn't the be all and end all of canon. There are a lot of inconsistencies and mistakes within it. I'd like you to quote me something from the Archives that says UC isn't canon. Oh wait, you can't, because UC was released after Archives! >.>

If UC isn't canon and the Red Queen doesn't exist, that means Wesker never got a hold of UMF 0.1.3. That means he'd have no data from Umbrella Corp and little to bargain TriCell with when he started a partnership with Excella, a major plot point in both RE4 and RE5, nor would he have had the facilities to steal Las Plagas with. Explain that then.

Considering people are trying to help you get a better understanding of the games, I strongly suggest you sort out your attitude.

        Ummm... what?!

Red Queen - a system controlling Umbrella's data base and research, not an AI from the movie - is in a game made by Capcom.
Alice is not in any game.

So I don't really understand your point. You can ignore this fact, but it doesn't change anything because it's still there.

Yes, Umbrella Chronicles was a filler, but the Russia scenario is still canon. Red Queen wasn't mentioned in RE1/REmake or any other RE because there was no need to mention it. It was just a name of the main system Umbrella was using and nothing more - nothing worth mentioning in Chris'/Jill's story, but import in Wesker's story told in Umbrella Chronicles.

          • UC is cannon and I enjoyed every Wesker chapter in the game b/c I love DC Douglas'
VA and the character antagonistic ways. The Red Queen is just GUI (Generated user interface).
She's not an AI like pertained in the movies, maybe she was inspired by the movies just like
the laser room in the russian chapter but since it was added to the game by Capcom so it
doesn't matter how you look at it, it is still cannon since is considered Cannon and it's
dubbed "Umbrella Chronicles" so it clearly it is.

Moving on to comparing RE4 vs. RE5 VAs, I wouldn't like to compare them since they
both are good in their own right. I like RE5's much more just because of the dramatic
tone the story takes and how vibrant was the fight between Wesker & Chris (Light & Dark).

It really goes to show how the tone of the story has changed for the better compared
to original RE's sloppy VA...Oh god! how I remember Wesker saying Chris *laughing*
            "Chris...Stop it!"

Irving I found him amusing and after I watched the bonus disc of the making of cinematics
I had to congratulate the guy who played Ricardo Irving, it was just splendid. I really
see a bright future for him as a voice actor.

"Splendid Timing! You too are just in time for the fireworks show....BOOM!!!" *Maniacal Laughter* XD

            • RE4 has the best voice acting, I mean the best lines were 2 of Leon's.
"Monsters...I guess after this there'll be 1 less to worry about."
              "Your right hand comes off?"

I'll admit, that one had me laughing so hard I had to pause the game.

That is one of the main reasons that I rather not compare RE4 & RE5. My
preference of Drama over Comedy is what is making me choose RE5 VA's over
RE5 plus that Drama it's been something that's been building up since the roots
                  of the series. XD

                  • I don't actually find that line comical, more ironic because that was exactly what I was thinking the moment he said it. Yes, it was funny, but I think that was the point. The timing was spot on.

RE5 had just as bad, if not worse, comical lines in it: "Do you get all your ideas from comic book villians?"

RE5's were few and far between, though. That one comic book line was VERY cringe-worthy...but it's hard for me to think of anything else that was said that is on par with RE4's cheddar, in my opinion.

Yeah, but at such a crucial point in the game? I think it's like the last non-cut scene line that Chris has. The fact that there were so few made that glaring one even worse.

Of course, being the Chris fanboy that I am, I plan on using that line every oportunity that I get.

I like to think Chris deserved just one of those cheeseball lines. After the comedy that was RE4's script followed by the drama that was RE5's, I think Chris was entitled to one cheesy line. Also, I like to think of it as a nod to his first iteration back in RE1(1996) where he was guilty of numerous EPIC cheddar-cracks.

Haha yeah, I guess you're right. That battle was the culmination of the last ten years of his life and he's talking about comic book villains. It was pretty accurate, though, I think...and a nice little jab at Wesker. I also think it balances out with his epic line in the jet, "I've had enough of your bullshit! You're just another one of Umbrella's leftovers." That line was awesome.

Maybe it's just because he kind of yells it over his shoulder as he's running up the path. It's just really out of place...
