Enrico only showed up in the lab and I didn't get why Rebecca said she would never see him again or something
Because Enrico died after that. That lab encounter was their last encounter to each other.

    • Character development hasnt been the point on any re classic game ( counting remake and zero as well ) they wont tell much story about the characters...

Now that would have been interesting; Enrico would have partnered up because he feared for Becca's life (and a sort of father complex), Becca had to prove herself as more than just a brain (a good scene explaining WHY, folks, she joins a policing unit rather than just become a doctor). Any of the scenes where one saves the other could be transposed to feature Enrico and Rebecca, and it would hold a lot more character weight. I mean, fuck, they could have just as easily ran into Forest or Kenneth, who would have given them the tip-off for the Arklay mansion. Any one of the three characters' death in RE1 now has more of an impact, because at least two of them know about Umbrella and they barely/never have a chance to say anything. The ending with the spider-web would have made perfect sense for Enrico (though I'll admit it was chilling enough already). None of the crap with Marcus has to change, though that's another discussion altogether.

I hate getting ideas for things that could have been, especially when you get wrapped up in 'em. It just goes to show you how arbitrary of a character Billy is. Oh well, at the very least he was the subject of all these Nemesis theories. Which is another discussion I'd like to see in this thread, if anyone knows about that. Where did it come from? What was the proponents' "proof" of Billy being the Nemesis?

        • Billy being Nemesis?
I only know Rebecca reported that he was dead

                • It explained the origin of the T virus, and some story about Umbrella's first steps.
Some enemies are a bit... ehm... ordinary? monkeys, bugs, cockroaches XD

                  • In regards to RE 0, am I the only one out there who absolutely HATES Leech Hunter? I tried playing it again tonight to get all 100, and it's impossible. I searched the entire facility and was only able to find 96. Plus the whole thing is just plain tedious. I tried the whole "kill first, collect later" tactic, took me 3 hours in total, and I just decided "screw it" and just went and unlocked the Revolver. Worst RE minigame out there, if you ask me.

As for the main game...eh. Probably my least favorite "classic" RE game, despite being the first one I played (I had gotten it in a three-pack with REmake and 4 for the GC, and I felt I should go in chronological order. I didn't get the GC ports of 2, 3 and C:V until much later). The graphics still look quite nice, and the voice acting isn't -too- bad, but gameplay wise it was iffy. The whole concept of dropping items wherever you wished was good on paper, but bad in execution, as it often tended to result in backtracking to where you last left a weapon or herbs. Plus, I always found making previously 1-slot weapons (Grenade Launcher, Shotgun) into 2-slot ones a BIG frustration, and it just made the game less fun.

The plot was "decent" at best. I found the explanation of Marcus's revival to be laughable, and also wish that Rebecca had a bit more personality or character development, since this was essentially HER story. At the same time though, I think that Billy's story was well handled, despite being a bit cliche.

All in all, I tend not to go back and play zero unless I -really- feel I need to. It's just not as enjoyable as the other games.

                    • Go alone with Billy, kill everything, than you go with Rebecca and pick all the leeches.
This way is easier, but I couldnt find all leeches xD

That's actually what I did, and I ended up with those 96 charms, a headache, and a desire to just chuck my Gamecube controller at the screen.

Also, does anybody know if the Wii port of Zero is coming out first in the US, or is REMake? it seems like we're doing the opposite order of Japan when it comes to which port comes first.

What do you mean "ordinary?" The enemies fit with the whole fact that this was a prequel. They were all essentially the earliest "t"-based B.O.W.'s, before the zombies, Lickers, Tyrants, Bandersnatches, etc. etc. They were meant to seem kinda mundane, they were basically early attempts at making bio-weapons from animals.

I really agree with practically everything you've just said. Leech Hunter mini game is frustrating and you are forced to nothing but just quit and refuse to play it again. For me it was, not only difficult to find all the leeches (which I never could suceed) but to remain alive throughout the mini game...it's IMPOSSIBLE to find all the leeches and even worse to kill almost everything enemy to continue searching. When I'm about to beat it.. I'm killed by the most inoffensive enemy in the whole game. Taking into account I'm usually in Danger condition.

Probably RE0 is my least favorite RE game along with RECV. I just hate it and I think it could've been a lot better than just prequel with a hilarious/pathetic character development.

                              • Your doing it wrong leech hunter is easy just kill every enemy in every room without picking up any leaches then use the map to collect the leaches.
