  • The Central - Krauser - discussion topic

Well i searched and searched and couldn't find any topic dedicated to krauser, so what the hell i'll start one. (if there is one feel free to point me there)

Resident Evil 4, love it or hate it is part of the Resident Evil series. But there was one character that just made the game worth it, and that was Jack Krauser.

I know that there has been alot of arguements about what his mutated arm comes from, either virus via wesker or plaga but to me, Krauser was the Tyrant of Resident Evil 4. In fact the whole ruins level that you have the final fight with him was very nostalgic music wise. Alot of the Music was reminicent of Resident Evil 2. Krausers speed was like the super tyrant of Resident Evil 2.

Im very much looking forward to Darkside Chronicles, probably not the gameplay part, but hopefully a look into krausers past.

Well, it depends on whether there is an RE4 scenario or not. It's quite possible there won't be...and if there isn't I suspect we won't see hide nor hair of Krauser. Despite there poor linking of him to Leon he seemed much more like a one shot character than anything else. Since it sounded like Leon wasn't around when Krauser got killed...I don't see much chance, I'm afraid.

There're lots of potential to develop his character such as the reason for him turning his back on his 'comrade' and kidnapped Ashley. There seems to be some history between him and Leon but we didn't get the chance to explore them

Krauser was a good character and hes my fave mercs character ever lol. i dont think we will se much of him in DSC though cus i agree that he was more like a one shot character like billy and Carlos seem to be (shame bout that i like those two characters) as for what his arm is i think its a form of the plagas. if you look at it it just looks like some kind of plagas creation. im not sure though. maybe a mix. RE4 never really explained much about any of that really. same with salazars bodyguards which were awsome btw lol

Yea I agree about the RE2 sounding music during the Krauser fight, loved it. Krauser was an excellent character and one of the bigger reasons I liked RE4. Unfortunatly, I doubt we'll ever see him again However, it would be nice if he turned out the be the boss in the "South American" scenario.

The one thing that RE 4 got right was the boss fights were unique and epic. Krauser was one of the reasons and felt they could have had a least a better file on him explaining the arm. I hope DSC has files like UC so capcom if your reading this have a file with Krauser in it.

It's certainly funny how much more interesting Krauser is than the rest of RE4's cast. Sure the bosses were fun in RE4, but it was only Krauser who was even interesting to me and didn't have any bad one liners.

No, but seriously, I agree. Krauser was definitely one of RE4's better characters. He was definitely a bad-ass. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing more of him and his past in Darkside Chronicles or beyond.

You're right about his boss music sounding reminiscent of RE2s Raccoon City stuff. I enjoyed that. I dunno though, maybe I'm just jaded from that friggin' QTE sequence, but I never like the insertion of Krauser. His and Leon's dialogue and the way the scenes presented Krauser all seemed like the player (not Leon) was supposed to be familiar with him. The execution of him didn't make sense, but I liked the boss fight.

I always felt the garradors were more of the RE4 tyrant though; their instant kill had a similar running style (with the claw parallel to the abdomen), and they had a similar weak spot (except this time on the other side!).

I liked Krauser. Sure, his appearance seemed tacked-on and his background was weak at best, but he was honestly one of the better characters. In fact, out of all of REs throwaway characters, Krauser beats them all, except maybe Nicholai. Also having the best boss fight in the game really helps. I'd openly welcome more exploration of him.

I would like to know how Leon knew him before RE4.

This. Maybe a scenario showing Leon and Krauser's past together, or something like that. This way, we could get more of Krauser and the raging Leon fanboys who entered the series at RE4 get a little bit more of Leon without making him the lead character of another main Resident Evil game.
